A hung jury is a jury that cannot agree upon a verdict after an extended period of deliberation and is deadlocked with irreconcilable differences of opinion.[1]
In the United States, the result is a mistrial, and the case may be retried. Some jurisdictions permit the court to give the jury a so-called Allen charge, inviting the dissenting jurors to re-examine their opinions, as a last ditch effort to prevent the jury from hanging.

Juries in criminal cases are generally required to reach a unanimous verdict, while juries in civil cases typically have to reach some set level of majority consensus short of unanimity. In jurisdictions giving the litigants a choice of jury size (such as between a six-person and twelve-person jury), defense counsel in both civil and criminal cases frequently opt for the larger number of jurors.

A hung jury is generally regarded as the next best thing to an acquittal, so the larger size of the jury increases the chances of dissension. A common axiom in criminal cases is that "it takes only one to hang," referring to the fact that, in some cases, a single juror can defeat the necessary unanimity.
Psychopaths have a Hidden Content and grossly inflated view of their own Hidden Content and importance, a truly astounding egocentricity and sense of entitlement, and see themselves as the center of the universe, justified in living according to their own rules.

Psychopaths show a stunning lack of concern for the effects their actions have on others, no matter how devastating these might be. They may appear completely forthright about the matter, calmly stating that they have no sense of guilt, are not sorry for the ensuing pain, and that there is no reason now to be concerned.

Many of the characteristics displayed by psychopaths are closely associated with a profound lack of empathy and inability to construct a mental and emotional "facsimile" of another person.

Psychopaths seem to suffer a kind of emotional poverty that limits the range and depth of their feelings. At times they appear to be cold and unemotional while nevertheless being prone to dramatic, shallow, and short-lived displays of feeling.
Obligations and commitments mean nothing to psychopaths.

But here is the crux: Psychopaths don't feel they have psychological or emotional problems, and they see no reason to change their behavior to conform with societal standards they do not agree with.

    thumbsup Verdict...

Any verdict won't matter. If they announced that R Kelly would release an album this summer then R Kelly will release an album this summer.

This might sound strange but if Robert is found guilty the sell of the record will increase. I hope he is found not guilty.
I will say a prayer for him.

I think it will be not guilty. the defense has cast reasonable doubt in a big fuckin way, and unless some of the jurors have an anti-Kells bias that they allow to come into play when making their decision, I think Kells will be found innocent (which he is).

I feel you on that cause this is a man and a provider of his home freedom at stake. I can care less about a new album 12 Play Fourth Quarter right now. If I want to listen to some R. Kelly all I have to do is grab one of the classics. Cause they never get old. Man I pray this brother gets free..

I went with "hung jury". This has been the most realistic outcome in my mind recently, esp. when I try to throw away wishes and hopes as a fan to see "not guilty" and be more objective. After all, the jury ain't us. I'm hoping and praying for "Not guilty". Damn, this is so nerve-wrecking...
