At first I didn't want to post at all cause y'all know what I think about this song. It really sounds he wrote it for T-Pain, the beat reminds me of bartender and y'all know I can stand that voice...it was cool for Leave your name, but that's it. Thongs like these are like dirt on his catalogue if you ask me.
    Just my 2 cents.
Very well put, Mixmaster. I totally agree with you. Two stars at the most.

But I also agree about this:

Thanx for the heads-up Chitownkellzluva. You came through again this time! Thanx for uploading AZ!

*** I can see why T-Pain been making a good use of it. He can't sing period. His thing's happening nowadays with his hooks and whatnot. Kellz got such a beautiful voice and great vocal, so what's the point in singing the whole verses with the machine?? I can't see no other reason than following what's hot at the moment...I like the melody, so can't help imagining how it'd sound with his full-blown vocal through his natural voice.

R Kelly's picture is not up there but they play his music often...

A couple of years from now they may not play his music as often, because there is only so many adds per month to any radio stations play list. Now if R Kelly doesn't sing the music that is similiar to what's new, then Kells will join Johnny Gill, Bobby Brown, Aaron Hall on the "Where are they now tour" Just my 2 cents...

No you are not required to agree.
I'm just wondering...For a rare figure in R&B such as R.Kelly, it's valid to say "radio-friendly" singles leads to successful album sales, for the most part??

I put " " becuz R.Kelly has the rare ability to CREATE and set the norm of what is "radio-friendly" for his own tracks. That "radio-friendly" is different from what people say with the same term at a certain time frame. Take "Step in the Name of Love" for example. It did pretty well on charts, so I guess it was played a lot on radio. But, the song wasn't any near to what was radio-friendly during the period. But, many people loved the song just the way it is. He can certainly do this original trend-setting role for his own and maybe some others' success, so I really don't get why he wanna join the group of these happening-on-the charts-right-now artists such as T-Pain and The Dream? Maybe he's afraid of being placed as one of "legends", which is an honorable thing on one hand, but means you ain't been active on charts on the other. I have some doubts folks gonna love his try becuz they're familiar with that particular style. They'd love certain singles becuz they got R.Kelly flavor rather than they got T-Pain vibe with R.Kelly on.

Also, he's at the level that he can sell albums without that formula-driven hot singles, or even without hot singles with more original flavor. The sales would still stay much higher than many others, not just in R&B world. Not saying singles ain't important, but he can be a quiet storm type of artist with that type of album sales cuz he's established a whole lot so far.

my point about Maze is that they don't have to change or stay current to make there point because there base supports them. they don't need the internet or ringtones,etc... they have there base. you see every artist goes through peaks and valleys but if your base is there then they are down no matter what.

he gets played if the song is catching a buzz, but the bottom line R.Kelly is R&B first and foremost and pushed as such despite having cross over, but at the end of the day while some folks will like this or that they still gonna respond strongest to what he does best and that is his R&B.
I got a question about the bolded part. Ageism means it can get harder and harder for an artist to get airplay?

I agree with you on that he got a base. Compared to Maze and Frakie Beverly, he's a whole lot more to depend on and much less to worry about when it comes to selling and having fans close to him. I think he got a serious base and he'd only draw more to that base with just brief effort to fit in on one corner while still doing him in the main ground. I mean, he can let himself be hip to new trends but that should be limited and shouldn't give a blueprint for his main projects like his own regular studio albums.

I'm AFRAID this could be the first single of a possible new album. I'm A Flirt Remix was released about at the sime time last year (february 07) and a few weeks later Double Up was announced.....

    Thank you Mista!

I hope this is another song. Hairbraider and Braid My Hair ... why not two different songs? Anywho, my expectations aren't too high.

No way this is another song. Maybe the official songtitle is "Braid My Hair" or they just made a mistake. Don't forget, the song has only been played on WGCI yet...it's gonna be that song, I'm shure.

yeah Black Artists well into there 40's getting major play whereas 20-25 years ago it wasn't a thing but the market and radio don't push 40 plus African american artists as they do White acts. on a whole it is a different ball game.
