I think it will be somewhere in between moderately and highly successful. It's a good time for the R-ah to do a tour. Double Up came out in very late May this year, and now that he's given time for people to buy it (and they have--his SIXTH number 1 album!), he will increase awareness. Plus, he's gonna be touring with some of the new successful R&B cats like J. Holiday and Keyshia, etc. Which will mean he'll get those fans to attend too and therefore get even more exposure.

Also, let's face it--anybody who's seen the Light it up tour dvd (or who's been to one of those concerts (you guys are so damn lucky, btw!)) knows that Kells absolutely gives it his all and THROWS DOWN in a big way. He was sweatin so damn much after only two songs--that's some serious effort, people. When the Double Up tour starts, he'll show all these young cats who are tourin wit him just who exactly is the kind of R&B: KELLS.

I haven't heard all of J. Holiday's new album, but I read a review in entertainment weekly that says he gives a big shout out to Kells on one of his songs. It's good to see new artists looking up to the master.

Another advantage of the Double Up tour will be that people (especially those haters in the media) will focus more on R. Kelly's actual MUSIC rather than his court case. I've been noticing less and less mentions of the case this year, which is good. These media hatas don't seem to remember that Kells has NOT BEEN CONVICTED OF ANYTHING. And yet they still talk about him like he's more guilty than O.J. I just don't understand it.

Anyway, as always, I wish Kells the best. He will continue to prove the doubters wrong by doing what he does best. Peace!

I hope the tour will be successful, and think it will be. However, for me personally, having three acts in addition to R.Kelly is not exciting and is not a selling point. To sit through three performers first (especially when two of them are not appealing to me, Ne-yo and J. Holiday) detracts from what would otherwise be great news about R. Kelly going on tour again.

I wonder if the promoters think R. Kelly needs to take these other "hot at the moment' performers with him to have a successful tour and sellout these large arenas. (I sure hope that is not the case.) In my mind R. Kelly can still be very successful standing alone.

I know this tour is going to be major. Especially since he out the DVD from the last tour for the people that didn't get to go. Since Keyshia Cole is on the tour, I hope they sing - Best Friend (You been doin' my best friend) ha! ha! I love that song.
