Including an image award from the NAACP in 2004, some people complained and a few eye brows were raised, but Kells was still a nominee.

    R. Kelly is always invited to attend many prestigious events, he has yet to be excluded. When BET had its 25th anniversary Kells was there, I was too, and yeah he got a few boos from the balcony, so what.

The promotion behind Trapped in the Closet, VH1, MTV, BET, and has been a parody on most mainstream television shows Saturday Nite Live, South Park, Mad TV. That's not someone who has been blackballed.

A good example of a talented artist who has been blackballed is Lauryn Hill, she has been blacklisted, we rarely hear her solo music on the radio or even see her videos anywhere. When Dave Chappelle did his film Block Party her record label refused to release any of her music for use in the film. The Fugees had to reunite just so, Lauryn had a chance to perform in the film or anywhere else.
    i can agree with that.

My bond with R. Kelly's music has gotten stronger through all these allegations but I know he's lost some fans along the way. It's sad because ultimately, it's all about the music. I have to fend off haters every single day because they know how much I like Kellz and it pisses me off that they don't emphasize his music more. Even though I don't think he's been blackballed like some other artists, I do believe that it's become politically correct to not like Kellz, like some others suggested here. I don't care, I'll keep fending off the haters and keep supporting Kellz, no matter what.

i ran into this recently in a discussion about THAT'S THAT

i had two/three "closet" r.kelly fans in the discussion that brushed off the fact that kelly's vocals took the song to THAT level. let's face it, with just snoop's rap the song is just another filler track.

it wasnt until they left the discussion that some of them told me that i was right.
