Chocolate Factory is the most special to me.

12-Play was going to come if the world liked it or not. R.Kelly's talent, star and music was on the rise. The album had NO-WHERE to go but UP!

"R" had a huge hit in I Believe I Can Fly, I Am Your Angel etc etc. It was going to sell.

    BUT...

Never have R.Kelly fans and music fans been SO uncertain of an artists future after 2002. AND THE MAN SHUT EVERYONE UP. No arguements, no debates. Huge hits. Multi-Platinum. And awards and nominations to fill yet another fireplace at another one of his homes.

Chocolate Factory made everyone realize this: Talent cant be stopped.

Default Chocolate Factory is Special to me too.

When Chocolate Factory came out, I was single. Shortly after it came out the love of my life came to rescue me. Forever more- Kelly mentions how he "used to be a lonely man, .....then the weather changed, mother nature brought the sun my way...", I got married that year. Like R. was a prophet and knew my life and made the song and knew me. There is special connection for me with that album. Most of his album was in my wedding.

What you said, that the album made everyone shut up. I totally agree. I knew people, co-workers etc who loved R. turned on him because of the scandal and many of them boycott him and then they heard that album and many bought it. I was so angry, defending him before they bought the album and then they loved it. I think people are so wrong to judge R. He is a musical genius.

12-Play & R. are DEFINITELY the ones for me because 1994& 1998 were the best years for Kellz. Each song that he had put out from those 2 albums was a hit back to back. The same with te R. album. When I first heard the R. album, I said, "Uh oh! This one sounded so good. It's gonna top the 12-Play album!" And I was correct! I was in college when 12-Play came out, and every woman at my dormitory (including myself), had brought it . I agree with Chelle. Chocolate Factory DID shut everyone up. I love ALL of my boy's albums, but I'm going for the 12-Play & R.

12 Play and R. 15 years and 10 years respectively are big milestones. It would make some sort of sense then if he was to release a sequel (i.e. 12 Play 4th Quarter) to one of these albums.

HOWEVER, I think Chocolate Factory carries the most significance to me. I can't believe it was already just over 5 years ago that I was bumping Ignition (the OG version). Chocolate Factory as others above mentioned left fans and critics alike in awe of R. Kelly's musical ability at a time when it would have been easy to tear him down. 2003 is up there with 1994 as possibly the biggest year of his career. Furthermore it was July 2003 that Dontmeanit aka Steve created the original R. Kelly Forums. I know quite a few of the members still here used to post on the old VH1 Boards prior to that but it was great when Steve opened the old forum and provided a place for fans to share their excitement because R. was simply everywhere that year. I'm glad to be one of the early members from that forum and still be here now well over four years later.

I love Chocolate Factory. I think this album was very soulful and it did silence critics and I was just elated he was doing his best music ever!

Wow, this is a really hard decision. 12-play is very special in my eyes because it was more of R's coming out album. It was the album where he forced the music industry to look at him like, "Wow, this kid will probably be in this game for a while."

I guess I have to go with Chocolate Factory because it was released amidst all of the drama and it showed the world once again that R is King of R&B.
