Well, I don't know. First, the tour would be rushed as hell if it was actually to happen this fall. The quality of the show might suffer from that.
Also, if it was really over once for all, I'd rather suggest a break, some quiet time and then a really motivated and heartfelt "comeback" album. At least for a worldwide tour. I don't think Double Up is strong enough for a world tour since outside of the US he didn't sell much more than 100,000 copies.
But first, let's get this over with and everything else, we will see.

    R. Kelly has denied that he's planning to go on tour in October, despite R&B singer Keyshia Cole's statement to MTV News that she was to be the opening act on the trek.
"We're actually going on tour together in October," Cole said on Monday.
But Kelly's representative responded with a statement on Thursday (August 23) that reads: "Reports that R. Kelly is planning a concert tour in October are not true. Kelly is currently focused on preparing for his trial and has no definite plans for anything beyond that."
Neither Cole nor Kelly's representatives had confirmed when exactly in October such a tour would begin. The timing seemed implausible for a number of reasons, primarily because Kelly's trial on child-pornography charges begins September 17 (see "R. Kelly Child-Pornography Case Finally Going To Trial"). The trial is expected to run for four weeks, but could run longer because of the unpredictable length of jury deliberations.
Also, for the past five years, when Kelly wanted to tour outside the Chicago jurisdiction, he had to ask the court for permission — in the form of a letter to the prosecutor's office — to give it time to object (which it often did). However, the state attorney's office told MTV News on Tuesday that Kelly has not yet sought permission to tour this October. Such permission will not be necessary once the trial concludes, as Kelly will either be free to come and go as he pleases, or he'll be awaiting sentencing.

I knew this wasn't going to happen... I mean, the timing didn't make any sense...

Thanks for posting, 10 Play. I've just received this piece of news on my e-mail account and I was gonna post it here but you beat me to it. Good job.

Officially announcing a tour prior or in the midldle of the trial would not be a good move, but no doubt behind the scenes the tour preperations are firmly in motion....for me I'm hoping its early next year

Andy...its like we share a brain! LOL!

OF COURSE he is going to deny tour planning?! And OF COURSE he is still planning a tour.

...he was taking a lot of heat from the media about planning a tour while he is on trial and it wouldnt look to favorable in the judge's/jury's eyes either!

I agree with you Andy and AZ it was just a bad mistake to mention a tour when the trial 'hasn't started yet, but damn right a tour is in the make

Co-sign. He himself, more than anybody else, knows he should take some time and have a serious break after the trial. Both the trial and tour will take so much mental energy away from him, so enough rest is def. needed before making any move during the post-trial period. He's a veteran and has been in the game for such a long time, but his usual job such as making music, releasing it, promoting it and having shows with it ain't come easy. Not just about business tactics, but takes right mind and spirit and physical condition. It'd never be too late to welcome him back after a long breakaway from all these years of pre-trial and trial periods. It takes time for big things to happen. This way he'd come back stronger than ever and it'd be scary! He'll write a new chapter in music industry and his own career and show what the old wine tastes like to younger musicians!
