You know, I agree with you 100%! I feel the exact same way you do. I have never disliked any of Kelly's albums. I appreciate his hard-work he's put in throughout his career. He can do not only R&B.. But ALL music! And I think people are trying to keep him in a box of the things he can do with his music. They want every album to sound like something he has already done and Kells has never did that. If you look at every album from 12 Play, R. Kelly, R., TP-2.Com, Best of Both Worlds, Chocolate Factory, Happy People/ U Saved Me, Unifinished Business, TP.3 Reloaded and Double Up none of them sound the same! He reinvents himself everytime! And I am satisfied with whatever he chooses to release because being in the game nearly 20 years and still being relavent is enough.

I also agree with the comment you made about the other producers on the album. I believe they are hot because I know Kells is a perfectionist and wouldn't put out an entire album if he knew it wasn't something the fans wouldn't enjoy. I love this mans work and I support EVERYthing he does. We have to give these up and coming producers a chance because its what MJ did when Kells gave him "You Are Not Alone".. I know this album will be the shit because everything Kells does is!

forgive me if this gets posted twice but i dont see my first post.....

i dont see the problem with the double up part 2 ? do you guys dislike that album? i happen to have loved it.....almost every song except the chamillionaire song....no1s ever gunna turn me onto that cat....

i can see both sides of this argument. We all want r. kelly to have his hands in every part of the album, but let the man do what he does and let them rock n roll on this and hopefully we will get another bangin album......

to an earlier poster i saw you wrote about MJ on a "comeback" album.....my friend lol....MJ never had a comeback album......come back and do what? levitate ? turn water into wine? lol..... but people say these producers r no namers we will see.....every1 was a no namer at one point and got their name from someone letting them take the wheel, now there are a few new cats who may shine

AND I HAVE BEEN WAITING YEARS TO HEAR KELLZ AND MAXWELL ON A TRACK

First of all, we are all big fans of Kelly. If we were not, we would not participate in an open forum like what we have here right now.

Second. Although we may be "fanatics" of Kelly as an artist and musician, let's not forget that he is in the "entertainment industry" which is also under the "music industry." He has full creative control as an artist, but at the same time he has to "please" his record label, manager, a&r, etc... His job is to create good music for his fans. The label's job is to market and promote his work to the people. At the end of the day he has to sell records and keep/gain listenters/buyers.

NONE of us have heard the new album and there have already been assumptions that the LP will be whack because he didn't produce every song. Really??? Are you guys f*ckin' serious!?!?!? You're going to judge what the album will sound like based on what you read??? C'mon! Wake up and smell the coffee! Real talk. I know we all want EVERYTHING R. KELLY ALL THE TIME, but the business has changed dramatically over the last few years.

All I am trying to say is: let's wait 'til the actual album drops before we make any conclusions to what it will be. I totally understand what y'all are saying. "Why isn't he producing his own music?" "Who are these no-names?" and etc...

Y'all have to think about it like this... Let's be THANKFUL that Kelly is still in the game and still able to make GREAT music. There is not one other artist from his generation that has been able to "keep up with the times" or be "relevant" like this. Name me ONE artist that has been able to stay "up to date" and make music the way Kelly does. I know that we want the original 12 Play Kelly, but hey! It's 2009 and 12 Play is OVER! Yeah, the TP-2's and 3's and 4th quarter were cool and everything, but as an artist Kelly is evolving and growing. Who else can make a club record, gospel record, steppers record, pop record, neo-soul record, and HOT DAMMIT the list can go on... But let's keep it real people! These "up and coming" producers and songwriters FEEL privelidged to be on Kelly's album. They're working with a LEGEND. The MAN. The KING of R&B! Remember when Kelly found out that he was going to be working with Michael Jackson??? Do you know how ecstatic he was? Michael's "comeback" album with a song from "R&B up and comer: R. Kelly." I watched the interview LIVE on ABC in 1995! I have heard Kelly's demo of "You Are Not Alone." He was so excited to be working with the King of Pop. He even said it was like a dream come true.

So these young cats that are working with Kelly, they deserve some credit. The label and Kelly himself have approved of the songs. So think about that for a change. Kelly has more recorded music than ANYBODY in the game today. If you pick up this album and decide that you don't like it, guess what? He's going to drop another one shortly.

At the end of the day Kelly is making music for US!!! His REAL FANS. All of us are his "Number ONE fans!" Believe that! He's released an album every other year or so since 1998. Who else in R&B has done that??? If he has company, how successful are they compared to Kelly?

I really want to know if you would be so judgemental on this album if what we saw was JUST the "tracklisting" without the "producers" showing... Think about that for a minute? Hmm...

    Gone!

props to you for that post...u have your opinion but I'ma keep mine, too.

I simply hate the fact when Kellz gives the production to others (well, "others" stands for no-name or lame producers...of course I'd dig a production from someone like Wyclef Jean or Babyface every now and then).
The reason for me is simply that Kellz does it better than anybody else IMO. Most of his greatest work was produced by himself.
So I hope you respect my opinion on that topic, too.

Interesting comments. Well I have never been disappointed in an album yet so I doubt I will be with Untitled. Of course, Superman High will probably get skipped. I am very excited over all with the feedback I have read from those who have heard some of the songs like Echo and Exit...so I want to hear those. I have heard Number One on the radio a few times and it sounds good. So I am just waiting to buy it and listen....might not be my favorite but with Kellz you never know. I have always been pleasantly surprised. Can't wait.

Supaman High was one of those songs that came and the wrong and right time at the same time lol sounds weird I know but it came at a time we were tired of hearing Hip Hop/ Kells collabos but it was like one of those average type tracks it's not wack... but it's definately catchy and everybody that I know loves it... That song was probably strictly for the young crowd then he dropped Number One for the mature crowd something that the younger crowd could still feel... Than the rest of this album judging from the tracklist will be strictly R. Kelly doing R. Kelly... just experimenting... with this album think of the magic that he created with Trackmasters back in the day... I'm sure he can do it again with different producers... I guess I'm just not comment or view this thread until the album comes out to see what the boards reception of the album then I'll give ya my feedback on the material...To me honestly the only way I'll be let down is if someone ghostwrites for him not produce...Cause it's some good R&B producers out there... People on the board probably didn't like Hair Braider but Tha Bizness went in on that beat and he went in on that At The Same Time beat on TP4

    thumbsup Transtitional Kellz

Supaman High is a hit. I was driving in my car @ Crenshaw Mall blasting it thru the speakers and young kids blocked the drive way just to dance to it.

R Kelly's music has been transitional. He's just working the best he can to keep his name out there somewhat, without making too much of a splash. A lot of artists like R Kelly will take a complete break from the business and you won't hear from them until they come with their next album.

Robert decided to keep his foot in the door and remix songs that are already hits. Just to keep it going to stay on top and polished. When he's ready and he breaks his ties with Jive records or any other obligation he's got he'll be free to do what he wants. Once he's established with another label. He'll transform into the new artist he will become. R Kelly will change with the weather.
