CHICAGO, July 20, 2011 -- /PRNewswire/ -- R&B superstar R. Kelly will be laid up for an indefinite amount of time after undergoing an emergency procedure at Northwestern Memorial Hospital yesterday to drain an abscess on one of his tonsils.

Kelly had visited a throat specialist earlier in the day complaining of severe throat pain. Following a preliminary exam, he was rushed to Northwestern Memorial for the procedure.

It is not known when the multi-platinum recording star, who just completed the U.S. leg of his worldwide "Love Letter" Tour, will be able to resume performing.

It's always the show must go on, because, we, as fans, never get tired of seeing him. I read comments on facebook about him cancelling a show because he was sick...some were downright heart-breaking. The man is as human as we are. Performing is his job and like many of us, WE GET SICK and stay home. I hope the same people who were mad, will finally realize HE IS JUST A MAN. Even if (God forbid) he has a long recovery, I SUPPORT HIM. The man has brought me so much joy. The only time I travel is to see him in concert. I remember the first time I met him...he really touched my heart. So, my words, to ROBERT KELLY, is I'm praying for a speedy recovery, but, if necessary, take your time...get well. Your true fans are here for you!!!
I agree 100%!! I'm more concerned about his health and well being than a possible long hiatus. I'd rather Kellz go on a long hiatus then to hear news like this again! He's only human. I truly hope he follows his doctors orders too and possibly stop smoking for good!

It takes a while for tonsils to heal especially for someone his age. So he should take a break and possibly meet with a vocal specialist just to make sure everything is in tact.

I wonder why they didn't remove his tonsils? It is no telling. I had mine removed when I was 5 and I remember being out of school for a couple weeks. It's funny how that surgery was pretty routine 25 years ago and now pretty rare. I know he will be fine but he'll need at least a month of good physical rest for his throat but even more rest from touring.

    R. Kelly leaves hospital after throat surgery

A spokesman for R. Kelly says the R&B star is out of the hospital following throat surgery earlier this week.
Spokesman Allan Mayer said Thursday that the 44-year-old singer left Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago and is recuperating at home.
Mayer says it still isn't clear when the Chicago-native might be well enough to resume performing.

Psychopaths have a Hidden Content and grossly inflated view of their own Hidden Content and importance, a truly astounding egocentricity and sense of entitlement, and see themselves as the center of the universe, justified in living according to their own rules.

Psychopaths show a stunning lack of concern for the effects their actions have on others, no matter how devastating these might be. They may appear completely forthright about the matter, calmly stating that they have no sense of guilt, are not sorry for the ensuing pain, and that there is no reason now to be concerned.

Many of the characteristics displayed by psychopaths are closely associated with a profound lack of empathy and inability to construct a mental and emotional "facsimile" of another person.

Psychopaths seem to suffer a kind of emotional poverty that limits the range and depth of their feelings. At times they appear to be cold and unemotional while nevertheless being prone to dramatic, shallow, and short-lived displays of feeling.
Obligations and commitments mean nothing to psychopaths.

But here is the crux: Psychopaths don't feel they have psychological or emotional problems, and they see no reason to change their behavior to conform with societal standards they do not agree with.

Very shocking news, but he'll be just fine. This year has been very hectic for Kells so far, all that singing almost every night non-stop, Europe tour, US tour, tv-shows, new music etc. He needs to rest a bit.

    Well-said.
I hope he strictly follows what the doctor told him to do, instead of trying to get back to work sooner. And others around should not make him do anything that makes him feel tired. No late-night partying and drinking, etc.

Yes, he does need to rest. With prayer he will be fine, just hope he doesn't try and do too much.
