This is the same prob he had last year, right? I heard he's doing well and I will continue to keep him in prayer. He will bounce back but really needs to take some time off for a few months. Write? Sure, but rest the voice, Rob, and give your body time to heal.

Singer R. Kelly has emergency surgery on tonsil

CHICAGO — A spokesman for R. Kelly says the R&B singer is in the hospital after emergency throat surgery.

Kelly publicist Allan Mayer said Wednesday that doctors drained an abscess on one of Kelly's tonsils on Tuesday and that the singer will be "laid up indefinitely" at Chicago's Northwestern Memorial Hospital.

Mayer says Kelly had been complaining of throat pain recently and was rushed to the hospital after a throat exam.

Glad to hear its nothing too serious ... I'm no doctor but when I heard it was to do with his tonsils I kinda felt like that would be a pretty simple routine procedure ... after all you can do without your tonsils!, His vocals are really strong right now & I'm sure fans in the US, Europe & Africa who have seen him perform recently can back that up

I still think he needs to give up the tobacco (In whatever form he chooses to smoke it) Hopefully this will shake him up a little & make him realise its no good ... but in truth, I doubt that will be the case

God works in mysterious ways, hopefully Kellz stop the smoking chewing whatever and takes more care of himself to preserve his Angelic voice, hes getting older not younger but with proper care you can look and feel younger and age gracefully and hopefully he won't have to go through this hes been working like crazy guess God feels he needs some time off even though Kellz doesn't understand that word lol. Glad hes going to be ok.

After you reach adulthood, dealing with the tonsils is not as simple as when you're a child. He'll probably be feeling a lot of discomfort. I'm praying that he follow the doctor's orders and help make his recovery short. On a personal note, I would like to say, SOCIETY has a way of not seeing KELLS and any other celebrity as HUMANS!!!! It's always the show must go on, because, we, as fans, never get tired of seeing him. I read comments on facebook about him cancelling a show because he was sick...some were downright heart-breaking. The man is as human as we are. Performing is his job and like many of us, WE GET SICK and stay home. I hope the same people who were mad, will finally realize HE IS JUST A MAN. Even if (God forbid) he has a long recovery, I SUPPORT HIM. The man has brought me so much joy. The only time I travel is to see him in concert. I remember the first time I met him...he really touched my heart. So, my words, to ROBERT KELLY, is I'm praying for a speedy recovery, but, if necessary, take your time...get well. Your true fans are here for you!!!

I'm glad the surgery went well and he's recovering. He can't keep going like it's 50 o'clock, he's got to take time to rest.
