April 23 2011 - R Kelly concluded his short visit to the UK with a sold out gig at Manchester’s Apollo on Saturday.

The US singer, who played London on Friday (April 22), delighted fans with a hit-laden set featuring the songs 'I Believe I Can Fly' and 'Bump N' Grind', and also saw him smoke a cigar on stage.

The intimate gigs were in support R Kelly’s eleventh and most recent studio album ‘Love Letter’, and were his first in the UK in nine years.

You can see photos from the Manchester Apollo on Gigwise below. For more details, check out Gigwise Gig Tickets.

The Manchester show was far from full, I’d say 60% capacity ... a big surprise was the crowd that attended was I’d say 90% white! ... I bumped into Man U left back Patrice Evra who was trying his best to keep a low profile

    Cheers for the pics

I was at the Manchester Show last night and all I can say is 'wow'. Literally the best concert ever. Sure it was a little short. i reckon it was about 1hr 15/20. Not too bad. It wasn't sold out which is disappointing, but it hasn't been publicised so no surprises. He didn'r bring any merchandise or anything.

The standard of singing was absolutely outrageous though. I went for my birthday and so brought aling 5 of my mates. Two already love him, the others were indifferent, but just came along because it was my birthday, and for the drinks after. Thet are all now in love with R. Kelly. One mate has been apologising prefusely for everything bad he's said about R. Kelly. He said it was the best concert he's ever seen. He's seen Usher twice but this Manchester show as twice as good. The rest of my mates absolutely love him now. Comments such as "he must have the best voice on the planet" etc. But the thing that came across most to me was his personality. He is so likebale on stage. So funny and real. Doesn't take himself seriously at all and he is really charming. It makes the night so much fun.

Anyway, for me personally, this concert was absolutely stunning. Incredible. Astounding. He didn't drop a note. Would've liked Radio Message but the freestyles more than made up for it. He did the 'who wants to come back with Rob to America one', like he did in Ethiopia. He also did one about which section of the crowd was loudest, and then a brilliant one about "reaching out to touch him with your hand". His voice for all these was impecable. He killed every song and his performances of 'I Believe I can Fly' and 'WAWL' were out of this world.

Probabaly can't quite make you understand how good it was, but a genius was in Manchester last night

Well, I'm glad they said the show was sold-out even though it wasn't, lmao. We don't want to give the haters a reason to take jabs at him.
