Yeah, I saw that. She always gives props to Kells. I thought she was supposed to present something, but didn't see her on stage.

Absolutely amazing performance. Kells has no peers.

ITS AMAZING AND INSPIRING HOW HE CAN BE AROUND NEGATIVE PEOPLE AND PEOPLE THAT HATE ON HIM AND HE CAN STILL HOLD HIS HEAD UP AND KEEP DOING WHAT HE LOVES AT THE HIGHEST LEVEL, NO MATTER WHAT PEOPLE SAY OR DO!!! HE'S TAKING THE HIGH ROAD NOT RESPONDING TO ALL THE NEGATIVITY!!! MUCH LOVE ROB!!!

Was there a pre-show about R. Kelly like someone posted on here? What happened on that?

Last night’s Soul Train Awards made for some pretty great viewing. Anita Baker was honored with performances of her hits from some of R&B’s best and brightest, Erykah Badu bathed herself in lights for her reading of “Window Seat,” and hosts Terrence Howard and Tarji P. Henson actually shined in their segments.

But the night was owned by R. Kelly, who channeled the spirit of entertainers of old, from Marvin Gaye to James Brown, to deliver this over-the-top medley of hits.

We’re not especially big R. Kelly enthusiasts, nor do we care to speculate about his private life, but watching him tear the house down last night felt like viewing Michael Jackson debuting the moonwalk, or the Godfather of Soul on the T.A.M.I. Show. You don’t have to take our word for it. Watch the video below and prepare to be shocked and awed.

DAMN. That's all that matters right there. Everybody will not like him as a person, BUT THEY WILL RESPECT HIM AS A MUSICAL GENIUS. There's nothing that can be said to deny him of that.

It's like this. Rob shut the critics down. He silenced everyone by being a classy entertainer. He is in a league all his own. He's so charismatic and he OWNS the stage. He had a Jackie Wilson/Frankie Lymon/Nat Cole thing going on that night. I don't have enough words to describe what he did. It was utterly unbelievable. He is so amazing. On the Michael Baisden show they raved about R. Kelly the entire 4 hours. George Wilborn is friends with R. Kelly and I remember when Rob was acquitted and George saying how he was glad and Michael Baisden mentioned that people spent too much unnecessary energy on that situation and he doesn't have anything against him, he just doesn't play his music because it doesn't fit the format of his show. I thought to myself, how does the King of R&B not fit your formatting. Rob has so much versatility, you can surely find something to play but oh, I was ELATED today to hear Michael Baisden eating crow and saying how Rob is truly the King of R&B - hands down. He also mentioned how that was the best opening performance on an awards show that he's EVER seen and I have to agree with him.

^ Yea Redemption, During the past few months he plays R.Kelly music everyday. He had to find a way to fit Kellz music on the show. I'm happy he plays his music all the time now.
