He should win the best album category for sure, but it's the Grammys. If CB wins it, that would be a joke. How the Grammys explain that BS would be interesting. I they gave that award to CB with no actually songs nominated in the R&B category and then say he had the best R&B album would be a joke. Heck, you might as well not even bother having an awards ceremony. As for the other category, Ceelo is starting to become a favourite of the Grammys so I expect him to take unfortunately. I do like Fool For you, but give me Radio Message anytime.

chris brown is seen as some sort of successor to Usher, problem is CB might have some moves, but he stanks as a Singer IMO. very charismatic Cat with not much emphasis on being a singer.

you could combine Chris Brown, NeYo, Usher, Trey Songz,Miquel,Ginuwine, and its all the same dude and you could throw in Mario who has a good voice but no personality whatsoever as artist.

same thing with tyrese. its sad.

only El Debarge is legit and that album he dropped was hit and Miss IMO and I'm big El Debarge fan, but El was a good semi comeback story without the full story and sadly even half the story. i think it was a respect award nomination for El, because lets be real over half the industry in Hip/Hop and Modern day R&B has sampled, looped or replayed his stuff and made a madd mint while he sold his rights away sad to say.

in the other category the Roots are the industry darlings as is Cee Lo and that to me is Jive.

the roots ain't never made anything that has truly counted, i respect Questlove as a musician, but Bro Man and themselves take what they did way to serious and are pretenious as if they are dropping something memorable??

CeeLo is like some character out of "Coming to America" to me like the short fat dude who sung "She's a Queen to Me" when Eddie Murphy was going to marry the Woman that was arranged to be his wife. anyway that cat singing reminds me of Cee Lo. i applaud Cee Lo getting a 2nd life as a Artist, but Bro is so overrated and he will always be in Andre 3000's shadow and I know what he is trying to do, but it is corny IMO.

the Grammys ain't so much a Popularity contest because as long as I have been watching they are like the oscars in that they turn there nose up at albums that sell a bunch usually, no its more of who you are rolling with and who is considered conservative and a safer choice.

    alot of politics involved.

in truth you are better off in alot of ways if they act like they are ignoring you because, its one big racket. its nothing nice at all. i can't stand none of those industry award shows because they are all fixed. i kid you not.

Beyonce has like 16 more grammys than Diana Ross and Alicia Keys has 9 more than Diana Ross now say that back with a straight face 3 times to yourself and ask yourself whose songs you still sing and who goes back with diana ross songs and how she got robbed?

and the grammys ain't been right with Black artists through the years. go back and re search how they were hatting on Hip Hop back in 89 and then on R&B back in 90.

truth be told Michael Jackson barely got an award for his "off the wall" album they told him it was too Black. I kid you not. Marvin gaye only got 2 grammys in his whole career. Marvin Gaye we are talking about.

    Default Still he made history

Look at the bright side of the nominations people, 2010 nominated for " When a woman's love" 2011 nominated for best traditional album & R&B category off the same album is amazingly well thought off.

However he should beat out Chris Brown & Cee
Lo Green because Cee Lo is in the pop category as well....

There's no way CB is going to win Best R&B Album. He's not even R&B, he's Urban Pop. Maybe, if this were the Billboard awards or AMAS then maybe he would but Grammys? Nah. He has a stronger chance in the Hip-Hop category with that song "Look At Me" featuring Busta Rhymes. I only see El Debarge as Kellz competition since his album was kinda like a comeback for him and it's his first Grammy nomination - ever.

But overall this is a huge accomplishment for Rob. It proves that he's a consistent artist, the only male R&B artist to come from the New Jack Swing era that's still garnering critical acclaim and success.

^true. ppl give Mary J that same compliment of being from the New Jack era. though she has been my queen of r&b, critics have giving her more than she deserves with this latest album. she basically brought in the entire young money crew just to help her sell records but she doesnt write or produce her own albums. I honestly think ppl dont see how rare that is to write & produce your own hits. if panels did include that into their criteria for awards, Kelly would win hands down everytime.

I truly think he has a really good chance of winning best R&B album..the other albums that are nominated were pretty good as well...

Now Best R&B performance it's a toss up between him and Cee lo imo.. I'm just happy they recognized "Love Letter" considering how the state of R&B is right now...

So I'm gonna keep my fingers crossed.. lol

Like i said many times, i already gave up on these awards a long time ago. Everytime i get excited when he gets nominated, but then at the same time i know he won't win. when "When A Woman Loves" didn't receive a grammy, i said to myself: that's the last damn time i will get excited. So now i'm just gonna wait and see what happens! Not interested in this bullshit until good music is being recognised again period!

Well I havn't had a rant in sometime.....

MistaMaxx hit the nail on the head. It is 100% politics. If you are in with the top brass you're down....and if you're not with the top brass....you're down and OUT. If anyone here thinks Rob is going to win over Chris Brown please put down your pipe. Chris Brown for years was the industry golden child when he was dubbed the "16 year old phenom". Look At Me Now was a beast.....is it as quality as any of the songs on LL? Naw....but The Grammys are about as legit in 2012 as buying ocean front property in Arizona. Robs album is a epic masterpiece that I love a great deal. From the intro to the last track.....I am caught up in its rapture.

Truth be told....I have said this in the past.....when it comes to these award shows Rob has become old news. Usher is the next man on the totem pole for being "OLD" in the R&B game. If Chris's next album Fortune is as good as FAME he will breath way more life into his career.

Deep in my heart I don't feel the Grammys are about the music as much as they are a industry coy to sell more albums of a hot artist. Why is it one artist always sweeps with tons of awards? While others only get one? Is there really only one or two good albums a year?

    FLIPSIDE:

If Rob wins a grammy this will be more than amazing as it will launch him back into mainstream media. His main issue is his lack of acceptability to the public. Just saying GRAMMY AWARD WINNING will sell more albums. This would just really be unreal. But you're telling me he hasn't had grammy material since IBICF? Cmon !!! Why didn't happy people win a grammy? Why Didn't choc factory win? Cmon....

I know we ALL are rooting for rob here!!! So lets hope he gets another shine on his crown

    Time will tell....

Um LOL at CB ever being the "industry's golden child". In what world? He's disliked within the industry after the Rihanna incident. He actually has never won a Grammy in his career and lost in 3 categories just last year. He's really a non-factor when it comes to the Grammys and is mainly used to fill the gap. I could actually see Ledisi winning a Grammy before CB ever does.

and CF lost to Beyonce's Dangerous album because Papa Knowles pulled some strings. We all know CF was the R&B album of 2003.
