    ^thanks!

I wonder why he didn't perform Love Letter? Would boosted it a little extra bit up the charts.

Number One Hit performance was great, I like how basic it was. Nice intro aswell with the Lost In Your Love bit, i thought Jimmy Fallon had said the wrong song at first.

Nice video to come home from work too

    Waiting for Ignition to load...

Superb performances for each song. He reminded so many people with the ignition/step performance. The 'Number One Hit' show was perfect too. It served a purpose I think. It took everyone back to what R. kelly-produced music sounds like. So refreshing and no other artist sounds like it. My brother who loves R. Kelly is refusing to listen to Love Letter until it's officially released, but since he performed Number One Hit, he thought it was ok to listen to it. He loved it instantly because it sounds like CF, HP/US and all those other amazing R. Kelly melodies.

    ^Nice post.

Ive scooped the performances now, and they were both really good. You picked up on a very relevant point, which is what shines through on this album - that signature R. Kelly production and melody which is unlike any other.

The only review of the album so far kind of nochantly referred to it being melodic, but lacked R. Kelly's usually absurdity. Basically they wanted to be able to laugh at him, or mock him but Rob didnt even entertain that in the slightest on this record. Its fully grown, with those 'melodies from heaven' which he refers to on the 'Light It Up Tour' DVD and also in part on 'Number One Hit'.

You cannot underestimate the power of being able to create a melody, a tune which sounds so nice to the ears. This is the difference when Rob is singing over beats, he still sounds good but there is nothing quite like a track which is fully Written, Produced & Arranged by R. Kelly.

It doesn't even need words for you to sing along to it, and that's what the entire 'Loev Letter' album is like - and that's why Im soo darn happy.

That's exactly what I thought when I saw that review, the writer noted the extraordinary ease that Rob is able to produce a melody, but you could tell he was disappointed that there was nothing to make fun of, with his absurd comment, what will their excuses be this time? When writers who know about music listed Chocolate factory in the top 10 albums of 2003 some critics complained but you would never understand what their problem was because it was a great album.

    R. Kelly & The Roots need to take that show on the road or at least an MTV unplugged session ... they were 2 of Kells best TV show performances he has ever done.

Number 1 Hit would be a smash if released ... theres nothing but positivity from all sides right now with regards to Kells music ... everybody is talking about Kells again in the right way & its great to see.

R was so tough that Jimmy Fallon gonna take comedy lessons to improve his own skills.

fallon and the roots gushed over R.Kelly's performance and rightfully so, because he took it back to a time when you brought it live.

    no gimmicks,no autotune.

R got a tight band and singers doing there thang.

he truly knows how to produce music for tv and understands the dramatic effects for tv and what being a show man is alll about.

hitting those vocal solos on when a woman loves, number 1 and step in the name of love.

remember my thread if R only did stuff from the 00's til now how would it go over?

got your answer over the past two nights.

it was also strickly business because he was focused and yet cool with his.

i'll be frank with you, some folks want to ride what dave chappelle did on kellz still or make a joke from the trapped the closet saga and ride those things,

instead they get a musical genius who is direct, got charisma and is soulful and can sang.

i tell folks all the time the brother ain't been 20 years in the business by accident he knows his music.

    tempo, emotion, presentation and balance.

yeah you get the nod to his influences and yet the man is modern with a vintage feel that works.

the scary part is that he still holds back, because the record companys don't let artists do themselves.

i got the feeling fallon, the roots and some folks at nbc,etc... thought r might be comical or not deliever the goods and man oh man did he shake there behinds up or what?

soultrain had the same reaction and you see non r kelly fans ask us what is it about him? or they act like we are crazy or something.

i tell them the brother musically is a beast. you just ain't paid him that kind of attention and he is versatile which is a blessing and a curse depending if we are getting quality out of him as to quanity.

but right about now he is back stronger than ever.

anybody else coming off a by the numbers album like "untitled" sorry fans of that album, however it felt thrown together aside from a few tracks like a tv dinner. after that album to love letter is a scary cat. he is even scaryer live watch out now.

He made it look so easy. If he was nervous or whatever, we never noticed that. From start to finish, it was flawless!
