If tweets and a few non-news websites are to be believed, then R&B singer R. Kelly was allegedly beaten up at a club in Gulfport.
But the police and club dispute those claims.
    R. Kelly was scheduled to perform Saturday night at Club Illusions II.
Officers patrolling the area during the event were alerted to a disturbance around 3:46 a.m. Sunday, Sgt. Damon McDaniel said in a press release.
They attempted to enter the club at the rear entrance, he said, but the doors were locked.
While they entered the club through the front, he said, security personnel opened the back door and a man involved in a fight exited and left in a vehicle.
McDaniel said officers determined there was a fight involving management of both R. Kelly and the club over a "civil dispute."
Neither of the parties wanted to file a report so the officers didn't take any action, he said.
George Bush, owner of Club Illusions II, took to the club's Facebook page to explain the situation.
"R. Kelly never got touched; nobody jumped on R. Kelly," he said in an interview Monday.

He described how Kelly arrived hours later than what was contractually agreed upon and did not perform as planned.
His Facebook post said the club provided everything requested on the artist's rider, including three suites and 10 rooms at a casino and various bottles of alcohol.
"Everything he asked for in the rider was provided to him that we could obtain through the state of Mississippi except a bottle of Amaretto Ciroc," the post said
Bush said when he complained about Kelly not fulfilling the contract, Kelly's managers told him to write a new contract refunding everything but travel expenses.
"And when I go in there, they're leaving and one of his security guys pushed my security guy down the steps," he said. "And that's when he pushed them back and that's when the altercation started. "
Bush also posted an iPhone screenshot of a conversation between the club's promoter and a member of Kelly's management of the two continuing to negotiate payment.
Bush said the whole event cost around $50,000 and he paid Kelly $26,000.
"It's almost like they came here, they took my money because they figured I was small-time and I wouldn't do nothing," he said.
Bush said he is in talks with attorneys about legal action to recover the money, and it was not his intention to bring negative publicity to the Coast.
"My job is to try to bring the tourist dollars here, not to have people looking at us as a negative site," he said.

Police: Management with singer R. Kelly, Club Illusions II involved in fight | Celebrities | The Sun Herald

Let me address this R Kelly situation, first I had a long discussion with the manager and a contract to back this up. I was told from R Kelly manager, REESE, that R Kelly will get to the club around 11:30pm-12am, it did not happen, he arrived at 2:35am, secondly R Kelly would perform 4-6 songs, it did not happen. Thirdly he was very eager to come in an pick up the remainder of R Kelly's money when they entered the building and it was given to them. Fourthly, a presidential suite and 2 additional suites at the Hard Rock plus 10 more rooms for R Kelly's entourage at the Comfort Suites. It was all done! Fifth, a rider that consisted of bottles of Ace of Spades, Moet, Ciroc, and other shit that I can't even pronounce! Everything he asked for in the rider was provided to him that we could obtain through the state of Mississippi except a bottle of Amaretto Ciroc. Now people do you think that I would work 18+ hours a day to build this club and hurt my supporters by doing not what I say we are going to do? Noway! And I truly apologize to each individual that came out last night. So here is how we are going to do this, you work hard for your money as I do also so as long as I can verify your face on my camera system and show that you paid to enter, I will gladly give you back 50% of your money back. Once the other money has been retrieved I will then give you the balance of the money you spent to enter. Now last night cost me over $50,000 plus I gave away my bar so do you think that was planned? But I see so many of ya'll couldn't wait to get on facebook and rip my ass apart. And try to down play Club Illusion just as if we were a bunch of dumb people. When I was onstage talking to Mr Kelly's manager, REESE and I was told to go and type up a contract stating that they would return all of my money back to me since he didn't do as agreed upon earlier. I ask him to come in my office with me and let's do it together. He said I will be here on stage when you get back. Well they wasn't they was leaving the building and pushing my security out of their way. That is what started all of this. You see facebook world, when you stand up for what's right you are still wrong! No one is a bigger fan of R Kelly music than I am. And to jump up and say I need my ass kicked or there's going to be retaliation is absurd. Ask yourself would you let someone come to your home and rob you out of all of your dignity and hurt the people that you have came to love and grew up with just because they think they can? I don't think so. This is not about fighting and arguing who is the biggest and the baddest. What's right is right! I have talked to Anthony, R Kelly's security that got into the altercation last night. We are good! He knows what happened. But it's some of the same people here that #1 don't like me, #2 sitting back praying that I fall, or comes to my club on Thursday and Friday to drink Free. And on Saturday complain about paying $10. That is on the front line running with this dumbness. All I can say is I will give you the shirt off of my back and I will do everything in my power to make what's wrong, right! But at the end of the day, the people that is in this business, they know what's understood don't need to be explained.

I think everyone on here has known that these club appearances were going to end up causing trouble like this.. There have been multiple threads on here over the last couple of years about things going wrong at them but this seems the worst so far. If what the guy says is true, then R is in the wrong, and it's nice of the guy to refund the people that paid to go.

His manager or whoever it is that deals with these bookings needs to start being clearer on what Rob will be doing at these events when booking them. The promoter in this case shoulda done his research too, everybody knows that Rob is always late.

Exactly, and Reese, if this is true, knows damn well what time it is. He knows how Rob operates and he should not have promised something he couldn't deliver if all of this is true. How hard is it to be clear and upfront about what is going to happen in terms of the club appearance?

Also, $26,000 to perform 4 songs???? That sounds off anyway.

This is a mess I just don't understand why these stars think it's alright to be 2 hours late?thirty minutes maybe and then want there money first thats why when they claim they love their fans and pull crap like this makes me wonder do they do this (shows) for money or fans.i know they got eat and pay bills but if your fan go the extra mile and pay high dollars to come out see you the least you can do is be on time. (Just my opinion)
