Well we really don't know what the whole story is and maybe it will come out and maybe it won't. I don't think the lawsuit will go anywhere.

I agree with you, and also with Helena, Sanx and Babydoll, about the fighting thing. If it's true, it sucks big time. But hell, we'll never know, so let's move on. Nuff negativity.

Former Employee Names R. Kelly in New Lawsuit

    -----------------------------------------------------------

Former R. Kelly employee accuses singer of beating
    published: Fri, 2006-10-06 04:16

R & B singer R. Kelly is headed back to court, and this time it's for allegedly assaulting a former employee.
Henry "Love" Vaughn filed a lawsuit against Kelly Wednesday in Cook County Circuit Court, claiming that he was beaten during a visit to Kelly's Olympia Fields home in February.
The lawsuit states that Kelly and his entourage verbally abused and imprisoned Vaughn in Kelly's south suburban residence before physically beating and dragging him into the basement.
At a news conference Thursday, Vaughn's attorney Elliot Richardson said Vaughn suffered bruises on his face and scars on his legs from the incident. He added that Vaughn, who has been a friend of Kelly's for 20 years, required medical attention because of his injuries.
"At this point, Mr. Vaughn is not entirely sure what caused the attack," Richardson said. "Mr. Vaughn had a very good relationship with R. Kelly over the years. It was a mentor/mentee relationship for quite some time."
Vaughn's attorney added that thus far, Kelly is the only defendant named in the case. Additionally, Richardson confirmed that police did not arrest anyone and have not filed charges against anyone to date.
Vaughn also is suing Kelly for breach of a verbal contract, claiming that the singer never paid him for his work on Kelly's music single, "Step In the Name of Love." In his complaint, Vaughn asserts that he helped develop the concept for the song and its music video.
Vaughn's attorney said Kelly even acknowledged Vaughn in the song by referring to him in the following lyrics: "Dedicated to Uncle Henry Love: Thank you! Oh, I love you. Thank you."
Vaughn made a brief statement at the news conference, saying only that he was "seeking justice and compensation for what [he's] owed." He did not answer any questions.
Vaughn is asking for at least $250,000.
A spokesman for Kelly issued a statement, calling Vaughn a "disgruntled former employee" who is trying to extort money from the singer.

Psychopaths have a Hidden Content and grossly inflated view of their own Hidden Content and importance, a truly astounding egocentricity and sense of entitlement, and see themselves as the center of the universe, justified in living according to their own rules.

Psychopaths show a stunning lack of concern for the effects their actions have on others, no matter how devastating these might be. They may appear completely forthright about the matter, calmly stating that they have no sense of guilt, are not sorry for the ensuing pain, and that there is no reason now to be concerned.

Many of the characteristics displayed by psychopaths are closely associated with a profound lack of empathy and inability to construct a mental and emotional "facsimile" of another person.

Psychopaths seem to suffer a kind of emotional poverty that limits the range and depth of their feelings. At times they appear to be cold and unemotional while nevertheless being prone to dramatic, shallow, and short-lived displays of feeling.
Obligations and commitments mean nothing to psychopaths.

But here is the crux: Psychopaths don't feel they have psychological or emotional problems, and they see no reason to change their behavior to conform with societal standards they do not agree with.

Like some already said above, if the man thought verbal things would work, that's his fault. I don't think he made it clear&straight about his share even during verbal promise. Rather, he probably said it more like in joke or light tone. And now this? If he was a true friend, he'd stay smiling and satisfied about being given the warm shout-out in now-famous song. The man stinks in his 50s. There are fewer days ahead for him to live on this earth than have lived so far.

I don't sympathize with Henry Love on this. This is extortion. You don't tie an alleged "assault" with an alleged "breach of verbal contract". If he was struck by Kells and/or his people then he can sue for that. And, Kells as the employer can be held accountable for the actions of his employees. I don't know what Henry actually did as a former employee besides stating he was a "mentor", but he should be grateful he was paid in the past. He does sound like a "hanger on".

I totally agree with you on this, helena. I just hope it's false that he got violent because if it's true I'd be very dissapointed in him.

So true. This is sad whichever way you take it. I'm sick and tired of reading negative news about Rob. This is the last thing he needs, all of this bad publicity makes his case easier for the prosecution. He needs to stay positive with everything and everybody around him.
