More on (i): The whole experience looks like the beginning of change in his musical direction. By "change", I mean, he'll probably keep collaborating with artsits from Africa and keep thinking about the audience there when he creates music.
More on (ii): Whether you're big on the World Cup or not, it's a huge international event and he was chosen to write and perform his own music. More than anything, he seemed to be moved on a personal level and it must have been an ego booster. So, spiritually, among other things, he's been on a roll ever since. It was in the air when we were all getting excited about the whole thing. We were able to become more optimistic about his moves in the future.
Lovin' the breakdown Sis, and I totally agree although I actually voted for the 'Love Letter (album)' option. On reflection, that was the culmination of the events which started back with the World Cup. Alot of us thought Rob wouldn't have such an opportunity to showcase his talents like that, but he did and took the chance with both hands. It moved onto Epic, and the 'One8 Project', Soul Train Awards, and finally the album.

The World Cup was like the catalyst for everything, visiting the homeland, appearing to almost gain a new reverance and humility, which has shone through in this inspired record that is about to drop Dec 14th.

2010 has been a great year for Rob, and also us as R. Kelly fans, and the feelin' that Ive got is the momentum is actually getting stronger - supremely positive times y'all, supremely positive times.

Totally agree with Helena and VIP. The World Cup as said before was an ego booster that herald the birth of all the other options.

Gotta be the world cup song and opening ceremony. They paved the way for Kells to reinvent himself and deliver an classic album. The year of the future started with "Sign Of A Victory" period.

My sentiments exactly. Musically speaking, you and I are usually on the same page, gabo. Hidden Content

impossible for me to choose one but I can give my four since july 2010; the raw video of Leon Timbo, Kelly, & Tyrese was phenominal, the opening performance @ the World Cup, The Soul Train & Jimmy Fallon performances. & thats not even mentioning the One8 videos or the LL album! all those within a six month span!!
