Rob wasn't lying when he wore the 2010 THE FUTURE t-shirts which i made a thread about.

When he opened the world cup, the world got to see him.

Soul train medley was tight but only a selected audience got to see that.

Love Letters impact has yet to be seen

Epic is known to about 10 people b/c of no promotion,

I may have to go with the world cup......im gunna think tho for a bit

I'd go for Soul Train performance, we'll hopefully look back to it as the start of R&B making a comeback.

It's hard to say but publicly, to his R&B/Soul audience, I'd have to say the Soul Train Awards. He put to rest any doubt that he is still the King of R&B/Soul. To the international audience, I'd have to say the World Cup theme song.

I went for Love Letter & When A Woman Loves video, but more specifically the release of When A Woman Loves in particular was the highlight for me. The first time I heard the song it was like hearing music for the first time.

I was gonna go with the Soul Train performance at first, but chose the World Cup theme song. I think about (i) its long-term effect and (ii) its role as a good sign of all the other things on the poll that followed.
More on (i): The whole experience looks like the beginning of change in his musical direction. By "change", I mean, he'll probably keep collaborating with artsits from Africa and keep thinking about the audience there when he creates music.
More on (ii): Whether you're big on the World Cup or not, it's a huge international event and he was chosen to write and perform his own music. More than anything, he seemed to be moved on a personal level and it must have been an ego booster. So, spiritually, among other things, he's been on a roll ever since. It was in the air when we were all getting excited about the whole thing. We were able to become more optimistic about his moves in the future.
