Co sign with the steppin' music, my personal favourites off that album - The Greatest Show On Earth, I just love the ups & downs on that track.

Oh damn, I could name dozens of songs. Let me try to list some form the top of my mind ...

Sadie, though I'm not sure how much of it really is Rob's own work and how much the Spinners'.
Erm ... The Sermon. As soon as I hear that Hammond Organ, I'm in a zone. In fact, most of the self-titled album's songs. Especially Tempo Slow - those harp sounds are just the shit. One of my secret favorite songs by the way.
What else? Much off of R. Half On A Baby, I was just listening to it the other day and thinking, damn, this music deserves a Grammy or some. Of course Turn Back The Hands. Suicide! Great blue feeling on that one.
What I Feel/Issues of course as well, it's a masterpiece. The piano, the background sounds and especially the guitar towards the end ... priceless!
Dancing With A Rich Man has very unique music, very exotic, great rhythm. The musical bridge is very passionate.
A Woman's Threat and I Wish Remix got amazing music imo. Oh and The Greatest Sex! Need I explain that one? Don't think so. Also Naked, which I always use to neglect but then come to realize that it's such a beautiful song, calm, yet powerful in its own way.
Let's go to CF ... Step Remix has to be one of the top instrumentals, a totally new sound, and so great. Heart Of A Woman, You Made Me Love You (the guitar), You Knock Me Out (the piano rhythm)... Imagine That, one of my alltime favorites cause it rocks so much. Starts with a smooth soulful piano melody, and ends with a spinning and breath-taking guitar and drum inferno.
Also I really love the quiet and shy musical arrangements on What Do I Do. Heaven I Need A Hug is great musically too.
Touched A Dream is really impressively arranged.
On the HP disc, I love the music to Love Street (the trumpets just do it for me), If (the music is awesome, but the vocals kinda take something away from it). I really love the old school Gaye-esque arrangements and percussion on Make The World Dance.
On USM two arrangements stand out for me: Peace (totally new, totally soulful, totally organic, a perfect musical journey to Africa, well, did I mention I'm a percussion-a-holic?), and Spirit. Something about the latter just grabs me and never lets me go. I don't know, the whole song just has a very unusual feel to it, imo. Is it the piano, the echo/hall effect or the guitar that never leaves the background, but yet adds something raw to the song ... I don't know. I only know it works extraordinarily well. Listening to Spirit makes me feel like an eagle soaring the sky.
On TP.3 it's Slow Wind, Put My T-Shirt On and Remote Control. Those have very unique or great music.

Out of his songs that are not on his albums, the Shaft Soundtrack has got to be Rob's best work, musically (and vocally). Both Bad Man and Up And Outta Here are classics, very old school, very Isaac Hayes-like. Just simply wonderful music that kicks ass.

now dat is what I'm talking about when it comes to a response. applause to you for bringing it like that. on "Love Street" vocally speaking what was missing for you? Kellz was trying to channel Frankie Beverly big time on that song. now if he had have toured behind that Project with a Full band&Orchestra it would have left alot of haters with there mouths hanging down. enjoyed reading your take&feedback. Peace&Props to you Percussion -A- Holic(Hidden Content

Props, The R!!! Your words are full of life. And maxxx, true dat on the orchestra and band thing! If he ever puts out his unplugged album or similar type of project someday, then HP album should take its fair share on the tracklist.

No, Love Street is perfect, I was talking about "If". Somehow, I don't know, I just feel like the verses/chorus of that song don't really match the music. Imo, the music is the best part of thís song.
But thanks for both of your compliments. I know I haven't named many more songs that deserve to be praised for their music. Like Fly, You, Some Things Never Change etc. ... The list could go on and on. Hidden Content
