this is what i see that is an advantage of him going independent... he pulled out 65k with no push from the record company... he can do that on his own and make a lot more money doing it... also 65k looks a lot better when your independent anyway.... he writes, produces, mixes, etc with his music anyway so its not like he needs anybody to come and help him...

Wrong! RCA wanted Kellz to go a different direction and not do WMB. Also interesting you mention that he had interviews lined up because I've also heard that the Groovin' in the Park organizers wanted him to do interviews but he backed out. So it's not just the label and team, it's Kellz ego too.

Nice that it charted SOMEWHERE overseas, WMB is also doing well on the Sweden iTunes chart too.
This debacle is Kells own fault, he backed out on lots of things that were planned! For some reason he thinks people will buy the album just because it's "R. Kelly" and it will go Gold and Platinum just like that! Unfortunately you can't do that without promo, and maybe this should've happened for him to open up his eyes! Plus he needs to get rid of some people in his team asap! And that idiot Derrel needs to walk too! You can't keep surrounding yourself with people who only say "YES" all the time even when the answer is "No". Everything went terribly wrong with this album and it could've been prevented! Such a damn shame to treat a masterpiece like this!

Fan and Citizen K, you guys give really good insight to what it is really going on and I thank u both so much. Rob has to make changes internally first and stop being so arrogant at times. I love the brother but I had a feeling that he had a bunch of "Yes Men" on his team, but the problem is also attributed to Rob wanting everyone to agree with him all the time. If you don't agree with him he'll probably kick u off his team or think u against him, so I think that's part of the problem as well. I pray that Donnie Lyle or whomever is closest to him can really get in his thick ass skull and tell him he really gotta change his ways and be willing to take constructive critizism even if he's been successful for 20 plus yrs because no one is perfect. If not we gonna have the same problem now, its sad but its the truth.

Yes, it is ! I'm a fan but he has a terrible ego. It's really bad. Hell, I'm hearing that he was never sick (the same day his team released the statement, he was in the gym playing basketball in Chicago, not in the hospital!) and backed out because he didn't like how RCA is treating the project. That's REALLYYYYY dumb on his part because the Today show and Jimmy Fallon would've gave him major exposure regardless. He really let down many fans by cancelling those appearances and I have a feeling he's going to just abandon the entire project altogether. Again, his ego is a mess. I agree that he should get rid of the yes-men but considering how narcissistic he is; I don't see that happening anytime soon. He would never allow someone to down talk or tell him that he's wrong. It's sad all around.

If he truly cares about his career then he should think about the fans he has left and humble himself.

Not gonna judge if he was really sick or not, cause i don't know 100%, i hear things and to be honest not surprised at all. He has done this before! Today Show and Jimmy Fallon would have made lots of people aware that the album is out i agree with you completely, yet he choose not to do that, i don't think he himself understands what he did! It was probably the most stupid thing to do! And things already started to change, he already has a new manager, but the "yes-men" in his camp will stay, the wrong people will probably get fired, and unless somebody can get into that stubborn head of him, i don't see any major changes on his upcoming albums! Word is that he already gave up on this album which is such a damn shame!
All i can hope for is that this mess opened his eyes!

Man got to pray for him. with the two performances there could of been a chance he got to number one with Linkin Park or close to it, I do hope he releases the Feelin Single video.

He can really dissapoint you at times can R. Oh well, we'll keep supporting him.

I'm starting to feel a bit more positive at the moment because at the end of the day, opening sales don't matter as much as how he charts on the opening week, and we expect him to chart quite highly - don't we? Hopefully from then, the sales can pick up and continue building for the next 12 months like Love Letter. The album is well-regarded enough to do so, but it'll also take some promotion on his part. Appearances on TV would be ideal...but if what Fan says is true, I'll be gutted if he'sgiven up on this album...gutted.

again, I hope everyone uses the opportunity to say what they say on here & put it on paper. maybe ours will be read if we all write "from member of the 12-play.net forum" on the envelope somewhere. I havent sent mine out yet so if we all in agreement then lets make it happen. I would like to know whats going on. I cant speculate because I dont know. so hold off on w/the specualtions because that sounds like those "fans" out there in cyber-space that dont know what they talking 'bout.

    Default Record lows

I'm a true fan, but I'm upset with those low numbers charting on his new debut. Man it is R. Kelly's fault for these poor numbers. It is his fault for having such incompetent workers on his payroll. This may be the end of his reign as far as Im concerned.

I not only I purchase the CD, but all of his CD's and also the book which most of us have to wait longer while others in New York or East Coast speaks of having there copies.

I'm sorry for venting but he is getting knock around the R&B arena, 11th round and down in the scorecards no doubt. How will he recover at age 45 getting all of his fans backing him once again.

    Tell me that?
