Well Well Well!!!.... just to let you guys know i told my self that i wasnt gonna listen to the album until next tuesday.... then it hit me today is my b-day...nuff said... thank you Mr. Robert Kelly for this wonderful gift... i love listening to a album the first time... Nothing better... and you know the cd is strong if when you press play the first time and it hits you in the mouth (btw my mouth is wired shut because of the punch i received from this album)... Im going to be perfectly honest and tell everyone that has not listened to the album that the snippets do this album no justice at all.. to be honest "Green Light" (not confused with John Legend or the best of both worlds track (both solid tracks btw)) is the only snippet i felt that actually gave you a little feel of the song and as we have learned from other post we learned a lot about that track... Kelly (we will call Rob that now since we have learned Green Light is the new Down Low) killed this album... at 45 he has set the bar even higher this guy has a true gift from GOD and i honestly believe that... I was highly surprised by the new classic Kelly song "I believe that its so" (I'm not going to ruin it for the people that have not heard the album but i will tell you guys that the song goes from being a 5/5 to a 10/5 out of nowhere lol) the song gave me chills literally... Lady Sunday, Green Light, Clipped Wings, and the whole DAMN!! album gave me chills lol IDK how im goin to end this little section so im going to just stop typing... album is EPIC (not to be confused with his other album). It's a blessing to be a Kelly fan. It sucks that people are not appreciating him while he's around gracing this earth giving us classic album after classic album.... Ill never understand that... P.S. if this album doesnt get his IRS situation solved I personally will get that solved for him... the album is that good... i mean that Epic... P.S.S. I know he will make Stevie Wonder, Smokie Robinson, The isley Brothers, ETC... proud with this album...

So, Ive been bumping the album continuosly and I cant get enough of it but Id like to go back to 'Green Light' for a second. Now as soon as most people heard the snippet they thought Kellz is channelling Ron Isley which he obviously is. The drum pattern is similar to what was used on 'Lucky Charm' and the bridge/outro is reminiscent of 'Mission To Please' however I completely missed what was staring me right in the face!

    1. The signature "Ooo..." intro, with the guitar breakdown
    2. The 2 word chorus
    3. The fact that the story is about being a 'secret lover'/replacing someone who is supposedly not treating his girl right.

    Then, the penny finally dropped........

'Green Light' is the '2012 Downlow (Nobody Has To Know)'! Hidden Content

Even if you just sing it, obviously you have to use an element of interpretation here but "Green, Light" --> "Down, Low", its right there! However this Genius hasnt been blatant with it, in fact he has been brilliantly subtle so that no-one can turn around and be like "On no, not another song about cheating" in fact it sounds like a straight love song until you really break it down. Plus, 2 more things.:

    1. I always thought that a time would come where Kellz would become Mr Biggs, and although that hasnt happened yet this is an example of what we could be in store in the future if God spares our life.

    2. This is the perfect lead into the album with Ron which Rob has talked about. I doubt that will happen anytime soon, but the foundations are there.

Miquel said he would love to hear Ron sing it, and Citizen K talked about a remix with Ron - both are great ideas, but if they dont happen and this somehow becomes a single I can see a classic video with Rob singing this, and Ron reprising the role of Mr Biggs; that would be pretty off the chain!
Thats the illest review of that song and as I'm reading your post I can completely agree with this. Kells is a genius for sure if he's finna continue the Down Low series with Green Light. Everything you said fits the description of both songs becoming one to a t.
Baby I never meant to clip your wings, Now I'm wishing you could fly right back to me. - R. Kelly

All I can say is if he doesn't go on tour performing these songs with a full orchestra backing he would've done himself, his craft and his fans a great disservice.

Plus: I told you guys 'Believe That Its So' is the JAM!

Oh yeah, dope review Les ;)

I hate it when R. Kelly's music leaked online way before the official release date. This is not fair to our boy Kells...
Heard some songs on yourtube and I must say, Green light and Lady Sunday are very beautiful..

all new releases leak one week before their actual release date...btw your thread was merged with the write me back thread....leaking shouldnt be a problem if fans still purchase the album on the 26th...
Psychopaths have a Hidden Content and grossly inflated view of their own Hidden Content and importance, a truly astounding egocentricity and sense of entitlement, and see themselves as the center of the universe, justified in living according to their own rules.

Psychopaths show a stunning lack of concern for the effects their actions have on others, no matter how devastating these might be. They may appear completely forthright about the matter, calmly stating that they have no sense of guilt, are not sorry for the ensuing pain, and that there is no reason now to be concerned.

Many of the characteristics displayed by psychopaths are closely associated with a profound lack of empathy and inability to construct a mental and emotional "facsimile" of another person.

Psychopaths seem to suffer a kind of emotional poverty that limits the range and depth of their feelings. At times they appear to be cold and unemotional while nevertheless being prone to dramatic, shallow, and short-lived displays of feeling.
Obligations and commitments mean nothing to psychopaths.

But here is the crux: Psychopaths don't feel they have psychological or emotional problems, and they see no reason to change their behavior to conform with societal standards they do not agree with.

on first couple listens i wanna say i like it better than LoveLetter... wanna see how it holds up...my standout songs that i keep hitting rewind on are WHEN A MAN LIES, BELIEVE IN ME and GREEN LIGHT. also, playing the entire LoveLetter album and this album back to back is greatness - epic listening session.
will try and chime in with a more detailed review once i purchase the deluxe version
