Love Letter sold 160k first week with little to no promotion and it was under-shipped. I remember Kellz and Wayne Williams were tweeting about stores across the country being short on the album. You could even see on the Best Buy website that it was sold-out in nearly every store in the country. Especially, major cities like Houston and NYC were short on the album. I actually couldn't find the album for a week because EVERY Best Buy in my city was sold-out by the first day so I didn't contribute to his first week numbers.

I can only imagine how much LL would've done if it was heavily promoted prior to the release and shipped properly.

WMB will probably do between 130-145k, BUT it could easily do between 160-175k if it's promoted and shipped properly.

    First week #'s:
    TP-2.COM - 543,000
    Chocolate Factory - 532,000
    Happy People/U Saved Me - 421,791
    TP.3 Reloaded - 491,000
    Double Up - 386,000
    Untitled - 110,000
    Love Letter - 160,000

Kellz has always been a strong first week seller so he might surprise us. According to Hits Double Daily and Billboard, Love Letter's first week was a surprise for the industry. Ann also said that Sony was over the moon about the first week numbers. He outsold all the industry forecasts that predicted his album would do less.

i say 250 thousand plus the book tie in and all the performances also the timing is good right before 4th of july and its going to do well.

if kellz does under a 150 thousand then his days on the mainstream tip are about done and then i see him being forced into colab mode more than he wants.

folks will buy i got a good feeling with this project. and then whitney and sparkle carry over.

believe me he will get views from folks who saw him perform at whitney's funneral,etc.. this could be Banner year for him as long as the music does the talking and he brings it on stage.

I feel he is guaranteed 120K but can get bonus units shifted if he can get a few live performances in, and they have to be memorable ... The Soul Train awards performance springs to mind in the run up to Love Letter which created a huge buzz, if he can recreate that then 200K in his first week is possible

150K he will sell, but what about pre-order and Amazon? Does digital downloads count?

Digital downloads do count now they started to count like 5 years ago I think, so yeah all that counts if I am correct on that.

It feels like no one but us knows about this album. Only a week left until it's released and there are barely any reports on the album. Hope it doesn't flop... :/

Well tbh it feels the same way before the Untitled album but he had a promo tour leading up to the release this time he don't. Hopefully he can pull off what Perch predicted. With Usher sales looking the way it did. If Kells don't sale more then Usher first week I think he will do like 85k. Usher is suppose to be R&B but he dropped a pop album the only reason I'm name droppin him because he's a R&B artist too.

Usher's sales has no reflection on R. Kelly's.
