Great news! I won't get too excited because with Kellz you never know and everything could change (as many times before), but I gotta admit all your posts in this thread make it hard to resist! Hidden Content

I definitely didn't expect any album to be released that soon... 'Epic' out next month? Wow, that's big news! Hidden Content

And, to be original, the album I'm looking forward the most is 'Love Letters'. Hidden Content Obviously, it couldn't be any other way. That album smells like Soul and Classic. Especially when the first single is "When A Woman loves". That song is awesome and if it actually becomes the official first single off 'Love Letters', well that would be the best first single from R. Kelly in the last five years by far.

Crossing my fingers here that nobody will mess it up this time...

Thank you everybody for the info. Hidden Content

There are three songs in my playlist that inspire (to me) what is to come: Hair Braider (Acapella), Exit, and When a Woman Loves... and Pregnant just keeps growing on me. They are all vocally driven songs.

But back up. Kells has been setting things up for the future. Look at the promo for Sign of a Victory--three videos leading up to the official video. He's keeping a presence on the internet, like his laughter-filled singing after his stop by the Transformers set. So he definitely has figured out keeping presence and marketing in the 21st Century. But I also see a tactical man... the King of R&B for sure... but who is poised to go beyond that. Maybe that just means total dominance... I don't know, but I see Zodiac as where all this is going.

As far as I know, he mentioned Zodiac first at the MTV preview for Untitled, and so I think that is his baby. I think a track like When a Woman Loves would be on Love Letters, but Zodiac is going to be 12 Play from another dimension (and oh so freakin good). I think he wants to transform the industry again and keep his presence growing. So Epic is just a teaser, maybe hitting a solid market that needs his attention; cause really, who needs another copy of I Believe I Can Fly? And that's to set up something solid like Love Letters, Chocolate Factory-esque, looking back at old songs for inspiration and contemporary appeal--like When a Woman Loves (so 50's-ish, isn't it?), and classic R&B, but I think it's all about Zodiac.

He could release something so original that the world wouldn't know what to do with it. Great albums can languish in the market because people aren't ready. So I predict Zodiac is going to be as radical as Exit and Hair Braider, with solid musical roots but going in directions that blow the mind. Like Tip the Waiter. Damn I love that song. Maybe to a certain extent he needs to rebuild his credibility (thank the court case--can't tell you how hard it is for people to get over judging him immediately), but I see a wisened man who knows he's got to set up the acceptance of his artwork. Cause that's what he is, an artist--not just a singer-songwriter.

    R. Kelly's "Epic". Release date: September 13
    BEIRUT | Sony Music - August 17, 2010

On September 13, the much talked about R. Kelly Epic album will hit stores ex-US. This album is a one off collection of aspriational songs and timeless R. Kelly classics plus 4 new unreleased songs.
The Epic album was spawned off of the excitement of R. Kelly's involvement and participation in the opening ceremony of the 2010 FIFA World Cup. Epic will include the 2010 World Cup anthem "Sign of a Victory" as well as international hit singles "I Believe I Can Fly" and "Turn Back The Hands of Time" among other songs of inspiration and encouragement, see confirmed album sequence below.

Please also be aware, we are planning an end of year release of the Sam Cooke and Marvin Gaye themed (late 50's, early 60's) Love Letters album. Epic is meant to be a bridge to the all new studio album. Details and planning for Love Letters will follow accordingly.

    Epic album sequence:

    1. Heal It (Prelude)

    2. Sign of a Victory

    3. I Believe

    4. World's Greatest

    5. Victory

    6. Peace

    7. Turn Back The Hands Of Time

    8. Fireworks

    9. Spirit

    10. I'm Your Angel

Wow this is totally unexpected but I am liking the direction he is going with all of this. Now hopefully this international release of Epic will mean it gets released in Australia and I won't have to buy an import off a European site. We tend to get neglected by Sony/Jive when it comes to R. Kelly.
