…was the release of Happy People/U Saved Me. Possibly my favourite project Kellz ever did (maybe). I can't help but wonder where this all would have led had he not got that itch and got back on the 'BOBW' tip a few months later. Whatever the case, it's truly a classic in his back catalogue and R&B in general - there's never been quite an album like it since - it most deserves a mention on this day.

you know i'm with you on this. to me chocolate factory, loveland and happy people were his you can't touch me run and he had so much going on creatvity and it felt good.

the 70's concept of being a dj and playing the tracks. live by request who else does that then or now?

i mean he was in the zone with the steppers tracks.

now u saved me had a modern gospel feel which with his duality vibe going on i felt the Ray charles thing going on with where he was going.

i wanted the musical virus back then and still do. i mean his versatility is scary and it was on strong display here.

i was so hyped and wanted to keep on grooving to this, matter of fact when i was in the hood a few years back some cats told me that this was the last project that they felt by Kellz. happy people was that party, bar b que and playing games with album.

until love letter came out this was the last album by kellz i listen to all the way through.

dug the arrangements and those strings. him and Larry Gold were on point.

i was grooving to love street a couple of weeks ago and it stilll bangs.

ladies night is the steppers cut and that flutie synth and those Donnie Lyle Guitar runs are a car ride groove.

dig the long version of happy people with the barry white vibe in full effect.

    so underrated
