Well, here's more info from MTV.com:

    .
    .

December is shaping up to be a busy month for songwriter/producer Sean Garrett. The man behind Beyoncé's "Check on It" and Chris Brown's "Gimme That" will hit the studio with R. Kelly on Friday in Chicago and plans to work with the R&B artist through Monday. Then Garrett is off to Atlanta, where he'll collaborate with Whitney Houston from Tuesday through December 14. The producer will also reteam with Chris Brown in a New York studio from December 15-19.

^Just saw that. If he is working with Kells I hope they aren't doing anything in the vein of his previous hip-pop work like for Beyonce, Chris Brown, Nelly etc. That would be a mis-step for Kells. The one Sean Garrett song which I personally think is a good R&B record is a song called "If I Was Your Man" which is by Joe and is meant to be on his upcoming album

trendy Producer, but ain't no real producer or much of a Songwriter. seems like Jive Records wants hits from Kellz in a Colab manner at any cost. this is the reality for Veteren Artists. these labels want you to play by there rules. that List^^ above are songs that oh, anybody could have done. nothing special or memorable about them IMO.seems like the Company Brass is saying either this or that.

^Yeah, sounds like what mistermaxxx is saying. Kells doesn't need any help writing or producing. It's got to be the label's idea.

Thanx for the additional info. Is this news about Whitney&Kellz collabo? I mean, Garrett is gonna record Kellz' part in Whitney's song and then fly to work with her, right? It's not two different songs seperately with Kellz and Whitney, right? I'm a lil bit confused. If I'm right,....I hoped Kellz would produce her track. A deeply invovled collabo rather than this type of seperate recordings and putting together under the control of another producer . Like maxxx and lilmorsel said, the labels seems to be insecure.

the record label wants hits and lately he hasnt been making them. Hes been selling albums lately and not singles. But for him to work with someone like sean garret is kind embarrassing to kellz. Kelly doesn't need other people he just needs to stop the hip hop thing he wants to do. I think the record labels just hungry for the hits

Oh my goodness. I don't know all the songs on the list that Special Kev posted, but all songs that I do know completely, totally and absolutely suck from the bottom of suckness.
I refuse to ever waste a thought on Kellz working with other producers, and particularly procucers like that.
I let things happen. I still believe in good taste and in Rob's own creativity. Not gonna believe anything until I see or hear it. Never.

Thanks for the info, Special Kev.

That list of songs this Sean Garrett is involved with is just horrible. I don't like any of those songs, it's just bad quality music IMO.

This collaboration must be a label decision 'cause I can't see Rob having such a poor taste...

and guess why ? Because of that fuckin strategy Jive has since the last album. Chocolate Factory had big hits with "Ignition-Remix" and "The world's greatest". Happy People / U saved me didn't because it was not a regular R&B album. And TP.3 didn't maybe because TITC overshadowed the whole thing like some of y'all say, but I think it was because of "Playa's only". There are hundreds of songs which sound similar out there, so why the hell should especially this one have been a success ?? Jive should know that they only loose old fans and don't get any new ones.
Another Playa's only would be a shame !!!
