    Default Kells' raindrops

What do yall think about Kells' use of raindrops in some of his songs? I personally think it's alright in certain cases, but not in others. Like TITC, I wish he chose not to use it.

lol I remember this topic at the old board. Most people said it was ignoring. But hey I really don't care if he uses it or not. Funny how he said he came up with the raindrop. I believe he was on 106 and he said that he recorded water droppin from a sink in his basement and decided to use it in songs.

I can't stand that crap. These synthetic, plastic bubble-gum sounds are just stupid. All his songs would be better without it. He could instead use real rain, sounding like you hear it when it, well, rains outside. That would be a cool natural ambient sound, but that drip-drop thing is just wrong.

I Love it. He's made so many good songs on that raindrop beat.

It's cool for some tracks. That's about it.

Like The R., I noticed some folks at some point started feeling the sound's getting repetitive. Among them, a few went on to say it's another sign of his creativity being on the decline. I don't 100% agree with this. Just throwing it in as relevant input for this discussion.

I think he overuses the raindrops sound. Some nice songs have this sound in them but I don't think it's that cool. The sound of real rain would be much better, as The R. said.

Kill the raindrops Kelly. Max one song per album. It's getting past the time to re-invent.
