it was R and his former Keyboard player Lafeytete Carathon misspelled. that synth based groove with the Program beat was a trademark R sound in the eearly 90's. when LC was playing with him.you can tell the personal by the groove. whereas Kellz with Donnie Lyles sounds more fuller with his musical sound and stylings than back then. i always dug this remix though and it also reminds me of "Can we go around again" with which he did for Billy Ocean and "heaven's girl". R had a trademark Keyboard and Program beat thing that was very distinctive back in the day. cool thread Marv.

This is my favorite of all R. Kelly instrumentals. You don't get smoother than this.

That's true Maxxx, I remember being the the studio a LONG time ago, '99 or '00 and the Korg Triton had just came out and there was a R&B sample programmed into the KORG and one of 'em was called: RKelly Sounds, or something like that, and I was trippin' cuz the sounds were so mid 90's Kelly! He had his OWN sound. Just like when you knew you were listening to a Jimmy Jam & Lewis track, or a Babyface joint, or DeVante Swing (in his prime), you knew it was a R. Kelly production. The synths, the bassline, overall the groove. Just listen to the songs that Kelly produced for others back in '95 - 97.

Do I even need to say that Kells is a genius? Fuck it--HE'S A GENIUS.

Marv, thank you so much. I never even knew about these instrumentals!

R.Kelly Instrumentals are out of this world.

I even enjoy the hip-hop ones. They still have that R&B groove in the background.
