also: TO ALL MY FELLOW 12-PLAY.NET VETS: IS IT JUST ME, OR IS LOVELYLP THE BEST NEW POSTER?? SHE JOINED JAN. 2011, AND HAS NOT STOPPED POSTING AND PARTICIPATING. AND SHE ALSO GETS THE VIBE OF THIS SITE, SHE FITS IN, AND UNDERSTANDS WHAT 12-PLAY.NET IS ALL ABOUT. SHE'S NOT A VETERAN YET, BUT SHE MIGHT AS WELL BE.

no question! alot of artist have shy'd away from saying Kelly has been their major influence for whateva reason. Usher (with his video mocking the Down Low video) & Trey (even said it out his own mouth he started to sing cuz all his mom listened to was Kelly) being two of many.

Kells is mos def inspired by a lot of artists, MJ included.

MJ influenced a lot of artists.

    R. Kelly is an influence too. Most of the newer R&B stars clearly are influenced by Rob and his musical genius. Some of them admit it (The-Dream is an example), but most don't. The ones who don't admit it are either pussies or in self-denial, or both.

Wow! I just thought about Usher and when Trey talks about kellz, I generally get the vibe that he's obsessed w/ him....lmao no shade but yea the nice and slow was a replica of the Down Low video....

I think for the same reason KJ said, to scared to admit it which is stupid. ppl have tried to distance themselves from saying Kelly name as being an influence since the whole trial thing but its slowly coming back around.

either they're selfish ("i'm an original! no one influenced me!"),

or they're afraid cuz of Rob's "scandals" and they don't want to be associated with him.
