Theme of "Make Love In This Club". It's ok. It doesn't move me one way or the other.

Its not inconsistency, it is that we expect more from R-Kelly. Yes, the v-coder may be what's up for rappers, or people who can not sing. Now if something is wrong with Kellz voice than tell us......didn't hear, beat to #1 fan, and I like this beat, bedroom, bedroom, but I do hear Plies tune in there, which means I've heard it before. And I love Plies CD.........We just want the real R-Kelly............ and we understand he is trying to keep up with all the new tech coming out.....trying to stay in the game, we know... but not on every song we hear..........

think Depends how u look at it...

Having listened to the joint again, Im convinced this is a R. Kelly production...the drum patterns and sound effects, plus the fact that its a Remix all point towards Rob...That is somewhat insignificant at this present time though.

When I first listened to 'Disrespect My Shorty' (which incidently also screams 'Rob Production') at the end when he says "We Got Another One", I thought he was referring to another song for the album (4th Quarter) but now Im thinking he meant we (him and Plies) have got another track...again this is just me tring to piece things together, but Im guessing this leak was put down around summer last year...anyways moving on...

The reason why this song is getting a completely different reaction to '#1 Fan' is because of 'quality'. Some people hate autotune full stop, and whenever they hear it on a song its destroyed for them, but like anything it can be used in the right way...and it can be used in the wrong way. Right now Rob is using it pretty indiscriminately...whatever song he's on, seemingly there is going to be some autotune usage...however it is very hit and miss which is evident with this joint...He is using it for no purpose, and its adding no dimension to the song.

Lets take a moment to look at a few autotune joints:

    1. 'Hairbraider' - Autotune used brilliantly, creating that true Robotic effect...overall consensus - very good song. (4R's?)

    2. 'Leave Your Name' - arguably his best usage of autotune, combining normal singing with the effects to create a 'voicemail'/robotic feel...Great song! (5R's!)

    3. '#1 Fan' - again great usage and on top of that Rob is 'singing' with alot of energy...that is evident. (4.5R's?)

    4. 'Club to a Bedroom' - this was also pretty good, using the autotune to distort his voice and also extend notes...pretty cool. (3.5R's?)

    5. 'Club to a Bedroom Remix' - singing a song, and just adding autotune for the sake of it...poor. (2.5R's?)

There u have some examples of different uses and as a result different opinions.

This is always the case really, because if you do something well the first time it doesnt automatically mean it will work again, unless u put the right amount of effort in.

Lets briefly look at 3 similar songs.

    'Freaky In The Club' (5R's) ---> 'Kiss Your Candy'(3.5R's?) ---> 'Baby Girl'(3.5R's?)

All are caribbean style songs, but 1 is an undoubted 5R smash, and the other 2 are both pretty good but still pale into insignificance compared to Freaky! Hidden Content

So overall its less about inconsistency, and more about interpretation.

^^Good post. And I agree, I'm not turned off when I hear the autotune...I wait to see how he'll use it. He's made some great autotune joints like the ones you mentioned. This song is just unimpressive overall. He's using the same wack lyrics and after a while you get tired of the same shit unless there's AT LEAST some good vocals to go with it....which this song lacks. Unnecessary use of the autotune.

good post vip. i like this tune and dont think this auto tone thing is great but its still better than what these young ass artists is bringing out.

i would like 2 see kells not use it so much, but as i have said before he knows what he is doing, no doubt he doesn't need to do it so much, but maybe the young kids that listen to t-pain and co will like this aswell!

i think that kells is tryin to cater to youngsters rather than us the old timer fans. but u know once the album drops he will cater to us, maybe not every track but he wiull cater 4 us!
