Early sales, I'm pretty dissapointed at the no.6 placement, but these are early, I think he will prob finish at 160k,
Wow at Taylor Swift + Susan Boyle, they're not even new albums. 150k is good, not as good as I was expecting but it's more than Untitled and I think it'll be a consistent seller aswell, which Untitled wasn't.

Will Michael Jackson be charting on the RnB album chart aswell? Or just the pop one?

I am really disappointed with these numbers. This is an awsome album, I just don't understand why he did not sell more.

    Jive undershipped. Again.

Whatever the case I think this album will be a steady seller compared to Untitled or even albums like TP3 or Double Up which bolted out of the gate before its sales fell off a cliff face.
I think, from the very moment he thought up the album concept, it's a given that the 1st week sales wouldn't be high. Instead, I have a faith that it will be a steady seller. To be frank, I don't even expect the singles to be real big like, staying within top #10 for several weeks. Of course, I hope all of them could be of help with the album sales, tho.

Forget numbers and charts guys. R. Kelly has pretty much dismantled today's RnB with this album. He's back and I think a lot of people know it. Don't worry about the charts.

We can't get too upset with the numbers guys, and here's why:

    1) The Jive understocking issue is ridiculous and definitely affected the numbers - I think 200k+ was on the cards if there were actually physical copies for people to buy!

    2) From what I've seen/heard, the album had little promotion (although more than Untitled).

    3) Love Letter had serious competition in the form of the MJ/Sony album.

    4) People will find any reason to justify illegally downloading music... and unfortunately Kells would have suffered a lot here. Unfortunately, for most people, buying a copy of an R Kelly album isn't as cool as buying a Kanye album for instance (nor is giving R Kelly album of the year, but that's a whole nother story Hidden Content ).

    Just my 2 cents.

My hope was for him to do 200, 000. 150k it still great, but i wonder what he is going to do this week since there was ZERO promotion last week, and it was the release week! I have never seen something like that! The only promotion was word of mouth. I just hope he continues with the promotion after christmas.

Let's hope JIVE shippes out more copies everywhere by New Years. And I think it will help a lot if he releases a music video for either version of Love Letter this week.
