why "It's just the beginning for me, I ain't going back..." - R. Kelly

That quote above is from his latest free style track "Gangsta" and it makes me think about that R. Kelly really seems to stay in this whole Double Up kind of music for the future.

Do you think that quote has a deeper meaning and we will never get back the RnB type of R. Kelly? I'm worried. I really am.

    Let's dicsuss this here.

I think he'll keep doing this rap thing just for now, eventually he'll go back to real R&B. Kells has been doing rap since he's in the game but not like this, he's really developing his rap talent now and he's growing, i really like his flow.

Don't get me wrong Fan, I really like his flow, too and I love Double Up & his recent collabos, especially "Speedin" but, you know...it's about damn time to go back or let's say go forward to make some new Rnb IMO. And I'm worried he's not interested in Rnb anymore...that's how I understood this quote. And let's be honest we ALL want him to do another CLASSIC R. Kelly album...

I agree my friend, i really miss his R&B music sometimes, but i just think he's not really motivated to do R&B now. He can do it in his sleep and he's just looking for other things to do. Let's just give him some time to do what he likes to do and i know he'll give us another R&B classic album in the (near)future

I wouldn't mind R. Kelly Hip Hop albums, as long as they are masterly produced and arranged by himself, dealing with some deep topics, show his personal side and have no bullcrap club or hoes or bling-bling songs. But since he hasn't delivered any real proof that he's capable of doing an album like that in a long time, I guess he probably really isn't. So no more cheap repetitive Hip Hop albums, please. If his next album is another TP.5 Re-Re-Reloaded type of album, than he'll officially have lost his mind.

I wondered about that quote too Big Dan. And I'm also worried about him not going back to real R&B. But that would be too sad to be true. I don't think it's just because he can do R&B so easily (like Fan said) because:
Real R&B --> High Quality --> Harder to make
Cheap Hiphop --> Low Quality --> Easy to make (plus he can call on other producers, Rappers, etc.)
    - just my opinion !
I totally agree with The R.: Another album like TP.3/Double Up would be unnecessary and a waste of talent.

I think he was just talking shit on a mixtape and he'll go back to mostly R&B for his next cd.

oh believe me the Jive Brass ain't feeling the last two albums sales. it's cool on a 2-3 track thing and do all the side projects you want where it doesn't make your album. but another tp3/double up album and he will be barely going gold and also he has gotta know that folks want his Straight ahead R&B as the main thing on the albums.

down for life with the Man no matter what he puts out always buying it on a tuesday you can count that, but having said all of that i can make me a mix tape and just groove the 91-04 era non stop and be happy as well.

depends on who he is working with and the song. but to me every since he did colabs with Jay Z and then baby it's been more Miss then Hit IMO. I dig the stuff with Ja Rule, Twsita and Snoop, go getta was cool as a one off,but everything else I can Moonwalk on.

shit I was hyped when I heard he was gonna work with Rakim. now I want to hear that.

oh he has been tired of doing standard R&B that is why he wanted to do the Musical virus so badly. but Jive ain't gonna allow him no multi discs of Music and don't see it selling. they want Hits and since being a Hit-maker is part of the Rk package then he has to fill that role. catch 22 at work.

his earlier Colabs with Rappers were tight and it speaks more toward of the then as to now.

I mean He did "Playa's only" with the Game and the Game got decent beats but is a joke on a whole to me. He ain't no personality whatsoever.

then I'm a flirt" with T-pain and T.I. and do you even remember Ti's part in the song? I mean it feels more like naked Colaborations that are phoned in IMO. back in the day when Fuckin you tonight was out , oh i was singing that jam and feeling that whole cut, or street dreams re-mix or gone to november on the runs remix where Kellz hit the hook with Wyclef and John Forte. stuff like that still hits way more.

we thuggin was cool and other tracks then. but the difference then as to now is that it was a rareity and not overwhelming his thing. so we shall see.
