I just feel it's the Jive Brass forcing this Issue on him personally. to be Honest with you, JMO: Kellz is bored of the stuff he has to do on the real. I mean he can do this in his sleep. He wants to expand. yes He has the talent to work with any Rapper or R&B Act there is,but He is show much more than what he is allowed to do. aside from the Musical Virus Project, Mid tempo projects, Stepping projects I wish He could do a whole Project with a Brian Mcknight.
I believe he really cares about his own craft, as a true artist should. So, he can feel that way you described and is goin through agony about it. Becuz of his own goal as well as others' high expectations.

With Brian McKnight, what kind of project do you picture? Jazz?

I hope that too. Or producers/writers. Collabos behind the board.

I agree w/ the above as much as I agree with my opinion.

im not denying the fact that "ima flirt" to r.kelly's music is like asking albert einstein what 2+2 is!!!

however, lets sit back and enjoy the music. we all know that r.kelly's worst collab is leagues ahead of the some of the TOP songs on the radio today.

all in all......i want to make sure that everyone on the board gives this album, song and work a fair and honest shot. Hidden Content Hidden Content

i feel they could make a Helluva Project together. Mcknight has the Jazz&classical Vibe, R has R&B and the Gospel Vibe, you put that together to play off&it would be something else IMO. i feel that a Project which would showcase so much more than another run of the mill colab would be very interesting IMO.

we are all gonna be there day One Buying the Album. I respect what you said. I look forward to the Other tracks, but make no mistake about it, doing a song with Bow WOW&having T-Pain on it scares me. R.kelly has the Most Open Minded Fans on the Planet period. I do wonder if the next Chapters of Trapped in the Closet will Dominate this Project as it did with the last one? stay tunned.

lol. Your right. Good looking out. I saw the number but didn't think to call it. Glad it was a local call. Kells plays some snippets. poor sound quality though.

    Track List for Double Up.

    Blow it Up ft Jeezy

Leave Your Name (the acapella he sang on the Access Granted I'm a Flirt)

    Double Up ft Snoop Dog

    Freakin in the Club

    Rock Star Ft Luda

    Pull Your Hair

Put some Money on it ft Rick Ross

Hook It Up Ft Kanye West

Only a couple of slow joints cuz so many hip hop artists have been calling Kells, and since he's been doing so many tracks for them, he decided to put some of that 'magic' on his album cuz those colabo's have been blowing up. "R&B and Hip Hop are like two hands holding on to each other"

Tracks with some other dudes name Polo and Runners and some Chicago locals too.

I'll buy the album and contine to support Kells but I'm not feeling the 70% Hip Hop and I agree with Maxx that its most likely Jive pressuring him. But he needs to get paid and all those lawyers ain't cheap.

It's obvious that alot of us here like the slower songs and are frustrated with all these rap colabo's, because we know that Rob is capable of much more.

It will be interesting to see what videos he makes for his own songs off the new album. The last solo video he did was Slow Wind, then nothing but these lame video's since then. Most of them just have Rob standing in front of some silk screened/airbrushed background of Chicago, etc.

I realize the budgets for the videos are not in his total control and that the music video industry has changed alot over the past 10 years but sometimes I feel his best music videos are in his past.

We won't Kill ya AZ, trust me, Chelle is not thrilled about the direction he and this album are going.

Record Sales of Double Up will be verdict if he's losing fans, or gaining them by going this hip-hop route.

    Not Local

312 area code is not local for me... It felt strange to hear his voice talking over the phone, but I enjoyed it.

i just felt someone needed to stand up for the collabs.

do i want him singing...yeah. but we have to be appreciative of what we get.

as far as kellz in his music and personal life........i think we can all be thankful that our man is still making music, COMMANDS THE RESPECT of artists in the industry and ALL OF THEM are willing to work with him.
