only if he does it how the Isley Brothers did it with Who's that lady, Summer Breeze and other cuts where Ernie was blazing on the guitar, but to just turn the guitar volume up and use it as a effect is pulling out what Run DMC use to do which was cool for a song or two but not a whole album. Rock is Black Music and if done the right way it is a powerful and beautiful thing to the mind sprit and soul. but RockStar and Party Like a Rock Star are both hack songs to me and they were both done on the gimmick of a turned up guitar sound and effect than actually being rock Based.

EXACTLY. Well put. Some guitar sounds don't make a song a rock song.

I totally agree with you. I'm also ready for the slow jams.

with the intense Drama that Rob likes in his songs that have strings in them a cover of Stairway could actually work. but on real if R hired Ernie and Brought Buddy Guy in for a Guitar based album would be Awesome IMO

Default I have a question to music heads here

There's an area where Blues and Rock are mixed? When I was thinking of this thread, I didn't think of only heavy metal or hard rock type of tracks. Personally, they are the genres that I like least along with country. If I'm not wrong, it'd sound nice if he channels toward 'Blusy" rock.

But, I'd love to know if there's the type of music. I need your help.

Blues, Rock, Funk, Soul ... they're all linked. Many Funk songs are rather rocky than funky, and Rock songs have soul or are blue. Just two hours ago when a co-worker took me to the train station in his car, he had some great Blues music playing while we were driving. It was really cool blues. But guess what he answered when I asked him who that was? AC/DC. I would have never guessed that. Once again my musical horizon expanded.
There is really a link between almost all musical styles.
