Default do you feel R as a Feel Good Artist or not?

i always had different impressions upon hearing whatever Album or Project R was working on,but something about chocolate factory and then Happy People/U Saved me made him come across as a Feel Good Artist. you know where you can feel him smiling and not frowning. did you ever get a impression upon hearing his music if you could sense if he was happy, sad or in between?? a feel Good Artist makes you feel good ain't pop cheesy Happy like Mariah Carey, while there is nothing wrong with that, you just get a certain feeling. so what kind of Vibe have you gotten from R.Kelly where he is expression himself through a Whole Album? I mean there are Albums of his where you can tell he has alot on his mind and then others give you a different flavor. what's your take??

I find him more of a troubled and conflicted artist. He can have some "feel good" moments at times.

Certainly, in Happy People, it was a very happy album and it definitely enhanced my liking of his music. So yea he's a feel good artist and I know despite him wanting to still have comercial success, he still wants to make music that his fans can feel good about.

    think Kellz inspiration

Kellz music isn't always based on the type of mood he's in... Whether he's a feel good artist or not I'm not exactly sure. Donny Hathaway made music that felt good, but in the end he commited suicide.

Most of his music is inspired by the music he listens too.

Happy People is a feel good album because it's based on Maze featuring Frankie Beverly's Happy Feelin's and Southern Girl... Chocolate Factory's music is a combination of Marvin Gaye, BB King, Al Green and Maze. The R is based on music by the Bros. Johnson, Surface and the Bee Gees...

Every song Kellz has created for himself and others too is based on something I've heard before. And that's fine, because it shows that he is a true artist. He can take anything and make it his own.

Aaliyah's song Back and Forth is inspired by Cameo's song Back and Forth etc...

If not 100%, IMO, his music reflects much of his personality to the point where you just can't deny even with reasons such as he don't do music for hobby. Given that he's a singersongwriter&producer, it could just add much to that.

I get an impression that he is a fun, people person through his music overall. Yea, Happy People album defines what should/could be feel-good music. But, I think, not just the album, ALL IN ALL, his music leans toward bright atmosphere. Of course, there are "Issues/What I Feel", "Life", "Be Careful", etc. But when I compare some artists who are famous for their usually gloomy, dark sound and his music, his music is much more about having fun and celebrating life. He goes through things and it feels painful, but he's not that type of person/artist to write extremely depressing tunes about it.
Even in his rather calm, reflective songs, you don't get the same feeling from thoes songs about self-destruction, self-denial, self-contempt, and self-hatred. You get to feel he's got some to get off his chest and that way to make himself better. That's what I feel very strongly about his personality and music. It has a lot to do with how he could form an optimistic view toward himself, people, and world in general as a kid, despite his struggle and pain. Personally, I guess, as one of the biggest influence, his mother showed him how and guided him to be that person.

I feel you maxxx. I mean, I coulda made the same thread.
