Do you expect another R. Kelly & Usher collabo in the future?

This is a discussion on Do you expect another R. Kelly & Usher collabo in the future? within the R. Kelly Music Chat forums, part of the R. Kelly Discussion category; I doubt they'll do it again. No chemistry at all. Maybe it's because the track was a last minute idea ...

I doubt they'll do it again. No chemistry at all. Maybe it's because the track was a last minute idea and they didn't have much time to do everything they wanted. Who knows. All I know is it wasn't a success and they probably shouldn't try it again.

Yeah, it's doubtful. It seemed like Kells had to make sure the song was evenly divided with Usher and although not a flop, it wasn't the hit it should've been. And the video was really nice, but it came out a bit late.

"Same girl" still get's lots of radio airplay over here, like i said before '"Step in the name of love" was the last song i remember getting the radio airplay like this. But the song didn't blow up fully. I really don't know why, i'd say let them do another collabo but i doubt it'll happen

I agree with all of you here. I don't want and I don't expect another Kells/Usher collaboration.

To be politically correct cuz Usher has become bigger over the years.

I don't think we'd see another duet from them. If there's ever another in the future, hopefully no storyline like that of Same Girl. I don't dig the story as well as the song itself.

Would be good if Kellz writes and produces a ballad for Usher and stays behind the board and goes into the recording booth to guide his vocal and everything else. IMO, Usher is a decent singer for a singer-and-dancer entertainer. He's '70 baby and you can feel me when he's compared to Chris Brown, Ciara, and so on. If he puts out some more mid-tempo and ballad singles like he did in the 90s, he'd need someone like Kellz. He seems to have been too dependant on JD for both dance tracks and ballad tracks. They're nice, cute, good, or great depending which you listen to among them, but Kellz would probably get some calls from Usher's side to lend his gift to give Usher some more mature ballads. Usher's got some good vocal, so he'd deliver well. Even if it's not single-cutted and just for the album, it'd be a memorable track in that way.

well thats how u that noch erverybody had a good chemistry. the reason is that if u heard that 2 of the best working togehter people expect a nummber one hit. it doesnt work everytime. its the same like when he did with jay-z whole album there just few songs that was great.

I think if Kelly were to write a very melodic song in a standard songwriting fashion, he would have great success with Usher and himself. I mean these conversational style songs are good, but not memorable. Not one of those songs has really hit people's souls. SITNOL, HP, even Ignition hit a chord in people because they were in a standard styke that people sing and hum it. I have bigger hopes for Rockstar, the problem with that song is the content. I'm not sure it will get play on pop radio.

I agree w/ that. I dont see em bustin out another duet, but I could see a Kells produced joint on an Usher album.
