Beef w/ TP3?

This is a discussion on Beef w/ TP3? within the R. Kelly Music Chat forums, part of the R. Kelly Discussion category; I kinda think TP-3 was something he "had" to do for the label being that they allowed him to do ...

I kinda think TP-3 was something he "had" to do for the label being that they allowed him to do that HP/USM cd. The cd seemed to be rushed and I think that the only joy he really got out of the cd was with the TITC series....that's what really saved the cd and had people talking about him again...IMO

TP.3 is a really great album they just had to give it another title that's all. It's about the 12 play thing but it also represents the future, that's why we can't compare it with TP-2. He just takes it to another level with every album. TITC should've left out of it then it would be a better album. TITC dominated the whole thing, and that didn't do the album good

Well everybody pretty much summed it for me. lol.

I just think it wasn't R's best work. Plus, for me personally, I'm not into Raggae music, never have, probably never will be...so I didn't even give those songs a chance. If the song don't grab me the first few seconds, I'm through with it. lol.

    I agree...

And I also agree that he had classics on the album...

It was just missing direction. Nonetheless, could've easily been a classic, he just didn't go about it the right way with 3 albums in only 11 months ;)...

My review of the album is playas only was an ok song but should not have been a single. Happy Summertime was a 5 star song would've been a good single for the summer. Sex in the Kitchen should've been a video but it may have been to hot for tv. Slow Wind good song nice beat pure R.Kelly. T shirt 5 star song. Remote Control 4 star song. Kickin it with your girlfriend 5 star song Reggae Bump Bump 3 star song. Touching 5 star song
girls go crazy 3 star song. hit until the morning 3 star song. sex weed 5 star song. love is what we making 5 star song good vocals and instruments. burn it up 4 star song. trapped in the closet 1-5 5 star.

Overall I think the album deserve a B

The cd was missing 12 play song and a inspirational song. The cd was like a porno tape unlike the original 12 play and tp2 to many guest appearances. He makes his best cds with little guest appearances.

In my opinion TP3 is his worst album. It didn't hold the momentum his other albums started; TP2,CF,HP/USM. I'm still waiting for an album where he sings like he did on 12 play because that was r. kelly at his best. Can he still sing like that because everytime i've heard him sing a song from that album he doesnt sing it like then??? TP3 was jus there for trapped in the closet its more of a 'i can album' if anything; "i'm releasing an album because i can". Anyway TP3 did have some nice songs and it was a lot better than the other albums that sold more especially that akon guy. In a way i'm happy he didn't win any awards for it, i want him to release a classic and then he gets the awards for the best album of his career not the worst, if you understand me. Hopefully "makin' babies" can start the ball rolling and go back to that old r. kelly. The old r. kelly meaning the better r. kelly.

it's a hard call because on one hand TP3 is one of his Most overall Versatile Album I mean with Raggae influence, slow Jams, stepping cut, the whole trapped saga. but on the other hand he basically made One song into many parts& I know as long as he has been in the business he wasn't feeling no Scott storch like that.alot of the Album was sitting in the can. this Man Cuts tracks left&right so he just pretty much put this album together&had it there. now "Slow Wind" is a Cut. Kickin it with yourgirlfriend" was cool, but I wouldn't be shocked or surprised if he had offered this one up to Usher. to me I don't know why but this is a Cut he had to have had Usher in mind with. I think it's the arrangement&the styling of the song.Happy Summertime had to have been cut during when he was working "Chocolate Factory/Body Kiss Sessions.Sex in the Kitchen was sitting in the can for a while. the cut with Elephant Man was sitting in the can.

^ on the usher comment. i totally agree. i think on the old board i posted that this song could be sung by usher!!!

it sounds like a faster version of burn!

i agree that most of these songs had dust on them. sex in the kitchen sounds like he cut it (the slow original) right after or before ignition.

i got Usher's Confession's Album mainly because I think R.kelly ghost produced&did stuff on it. "Burn" has Kellz written all over it. the vocal shifts&turns. we won't ever get the full un-cut R.Kelly Book of songs he did or didn't do for many years to come.but I got my gut feeling on certain things.
