I already heard this a couple of weeks ago. It's C. Lacy- Pregnant remix. Not that bad. It's actually something that Kells used to do with his remixes. Just flip it all over. Not only lyrically but also production wise

CONSPIRACY (or something) THEORY ON R. KELLY'S CURRENT DIRECTION
Does anyone else feel the general direction we perceive of Rob's life has to do with Drea?

I'm suspecting he's in a similar mindset to the one Marvin Gaye was in when he divorced Anna Gordy (his 1st wife)... They had an agreement that she would get half of the proceeds from his next album after their divorce; 'Here, My Dear'....

So, in anger against Anna (who was younger sister to Berry Gordy, his boss at Motown Records; the label he was signed on to at the time), he decided to give Motown a "lazy" and "bad" album (I think that's what he was quoted as saying)...

Is it possible Rob and Drea had a similar settlement? And in his anger/disappointment/heartbreak at the divorce he decided he's going to have all the fun he's missed out on in the past few years and also give an album that's lazy and bother with promoting it....?

I couldn't think of any other thread to ask this question.... sorryHidden Content

^Interesting thoughts although I think Untitled is great so it's nothing bad about the album but the promo and that "Echo" video are definitely lazy but maybe he was protesting Jive not giving him the video budget he wanted for Echo originally. That's the only thing I can think of.

That's actually an interesting idea. I didn't know that information about Marvin Gaye and the deal with his ex. Its certainly not inconceivable to think Rob may have done this . But I just hope their relationship isn't malicious like that. Cuz that's actually pretty lowdown and not fair to her or us fans. That's an ugly thing to do. So I hope its not like that.

I certainly hope it's not malicious too. I've seen and read Drea's interviews and I think she still loves him and him her...

I think 'Untitled' is alright; nothing close to his best. And I also think it's better than the sales it's achieved and that's mostly because it wasn't promoted well... But I can also assure you that a half-introspective-Kelly-Produced-Album with the other half produced by the Infinitys and Jazze Phas that we have would have done better with the promoting Untitled got (or didn't get)... The poor sales are majorly a result of the disappointment of most of his long time fans (my opinion) because a lot of the fans I know had heard about its release and said they didn't really like the songs he had released plus they heard he didn't write or produce anything by himself; their opinion was that it wouldn't feel like a 'Kelly album' anymore

I think its directed at Jive too but Drea could've been stiffed during negotiations with Rob's lawyers claiming that he didn't have much money since the case took him for a lot of what he had...

In all, I think its quite different from Marvin's case because there were songs on Marvin's album that were obviously directed at his ex-wife (You Can Leave Me But Its Gonna Cost You, Anna's Song, When Did I Stop Loving You [When Did You Stop Loving Me], Anger); meanwhile on Untitled we only suspect that 'Elsewhere' and 'Religious' were directed at Drea but he didn't write either (or that's what we're being made to believe)...

Back then in 1978/1980 (I think!), sales of 'Here My Dear' were considered a flop but today its rated as one of Marvin Gaye's classics with sales sky rocketing after he was killed and it was re-released; maybe Untitled faces the same fate Hidden Content .I'm just trying to figure out what the matter is with Rob.

I'll just keep praying for him to get back to making good music
