Default 1 to 10 your R.Kelly music fandom

from the 90's til now where are you on the scale overall with his music?

have you had peaks and valleys where you like a certain era more than others, etc??

now we all have the albums, songs,etc.. and the side projects, but where are you on the fandom scale through the years til now?

well according to R...the best is yet to come so I'll take his word for it...lol but for me, I prefer the Tp2-Chocolate factory era... On a scale of 1-10, I would say I am 8 with him now as far as a fandom scale...Hidden Content

I only got into R's stuff in 2003, so 2003-2006 was awesome for me as I started discovering all of his catalogue. Never really got into a musician's work so deeply before. I would look forward to going out and buying HP/USM, TP3 and DU when they dropped.

Around 2007-2008, I remember I started listening more to other artists as I was waiting for the next R. Kelly album (and I was a little disappointed with TP3 and DU).

I started getting back into his music heavily when his mixtape came out in 2009 and then with Untitled. I really loved some of the tracks off that album. Also, the run up to Love Letter has been cool too. I really think he's stepping up his game and is gradually getting better too, so I totally understand what he means when he thinks he's still on the runway. I can't wait to see what the next few years hold.

Also, eventually I really would love to go to Chicago one day and see him live in concert.

Been a fan since the Down Low saga/I Can't Sleep era and my love for his music has only grown through time. I was very sketchy on the Double Up/Untitled albums but I still liked some of the songs on those albums. Luckily enough, I got to see him in concert in November 2009 and that was the cherry on top.

    10!

The beginning year 2003, my fandom started from, I'd say, 10 and stayed there several years. I was busy catching up with all of his previous music and the ones he did for others. Also, he was making new music all the time.
With the constant stream of R.Kelly music, I had no time to get bored.

But my fandom hit the lowest point during DU-The Demo Tape-Untitled era.
I doubt, in the future, I would be able to recall anything special from this time period. Just a big blur.

With LL now and some other things goin on, I realize that I already hit rock bottom before and now my fandom is on the rise.
Just not on the highest point right now, tho.
