Thread: Are you a fan of R. Kelly the musician or the man behind the music?

I'm just curious to hear you're opinions on this. I've heard many people say they prefer to separate the artist from the art. Personally, I find that impossible - especially with R. Kelly.

What are your thoughts on this?

For me....Im a fan of both: The Man behind the music and the Musician! i know people may say that you cant really know a person through their music/interviews/videos which can slightly be true but i honestly feel like i know dis dude personally! I listen to alot of artists but Nobody's ever touched me heart with there music like kellz. He has something that nobody has! I really do feel his heart and cry in music! his life and music is truly inspirational; whether he's talkin bout sex, love, relationships, GOD, etc. I guess the musician and the man behind the music kinda go hand in hand cuz u really cant have one without the other cuz thats what makes kellz, Kellz idk if ya'll know what im talkin bout but i tried! ill add some more stuff later

i'm a fan of Robert and R Kelly...unlike some yes i care about the person the non-celeb part of him Robert....i don't see him as just some celeb who should just keep pumping out music even when hes sick...when his case was pending i was also worried about him and mostly his kids...not too many of his fans care about that part...they just see him as some type of machine/slave for their entertainment purposes....

I choose "both", but more incline to his music

I'm a fan of both... he seems like he's a good father too. He loves his kids so much every album has a message to them in the thank yous. A side of Kells that's not often seen.

Definitely both...its not easy to separate the artist from the music....especially if you have been following his work for years...he also becomes part of you...that's what his music does...it creates memories...

I find myself praying for him sometimes like a child prays for their friend. I was rooting for him of course during the trial and all the other controversy.

I hoped (and still hope to this day) that him and Drea got back together for the kids' sake and because I feel they love each other so much.

I think he's like my friend in that we have so much in common; we're both capricorns and we're both imperfect but never stop attempting to do right without judging others, we just don't want to hate (except Oprah ) and we're just cool like that.
