Considering that Kells has always had huge first week sales. I'm going for 300K- 400K mark. Double Up opened at #1 with 386K sold.

The industry is so fickle I'm going with 250k but I hope he does way more than my prediction!
I am going to get toasted for this but I am going with 150k.
There has been next to no promotion. I have friends who don't even know he still puts out music. The industry is so hard pressed for selling CDs right now. I mean look at guns n roses? The CD had 13 years of hype and finally came out and sold like 186k first week lol. Double Up also had a banger for a club single that was played at all the clubs. Superman High was his attempt but didn't do nearly as well. WE WILL SEE THO! Just trying to be realistic.....
I pray its over 400k and his music gets out there and touches new people, but we'll see.
Considering the state of the economy, the age of technology and songs leaking before the release date, and the lack of decent promotion, I'll be happy if he gets 300k. He has a large fanbase that spans the length of his career and these people will be out in full force. If you call yourself an R. Kelly fan but don't know he has an album coming out, you need to just NOT consider yourself a fan. His fans know about the album and his fans will be there. He's a big time, mega-super artist and he deserves so much more than 300k in the first week, but I think that's the very best we can ask for.
I think R.Kelly will sell 300k
Yeah 200-300k is my guess. As was mentioned the promotional buzz that Double Up enjoyed isn't there. Hopeful of over 300k though.
Its funny how times have changed... I remember 5 years ago discussing on the board whether we thought Unfinished Business would do a million in its first week!!! Which for a short period of time was plausible (prior to the tour imploding and the lack of promotion or video for the singles)
Ditto.
I think I always added some wishful thinking doin this for the past albums, you know, even feeling a bit bubbly, but this time around, no. Looking on the bright side, 200-300K for the first week ain't nothin to sneeze at. After all, how many other R&B acts, male or female, can claim that? You can count in one hand and it's still hard to think of more than a few. Let's cross out Rhiana or Beyonce on the list. Some people label each or both of them as an "R&B artist" and that ain't right.
