Default Rob as Producer

I prefer it when Kells is the only producer on a track. He has more than proved his ability to create massive hits all on his own.

I think Kells could have done equally if not better as the sole producer on every track on DU and Untitled, just to give two examples.

Show me a track that's either not produced by Kells or even co-produced, and I'll show you a better one that is only produced by him.

does anybody here really think Rob needs help when it comes to producing his own songs? the man can do that shit on his own, and do it well.

Put it this way.....if Michael Jackson can be humble enough to work with co-producers than Rob can too. Rob has had an unreal run when it comes to making his hits the best.....by himself. But every so often a engine runs out of gas and it needs someone else from another gas station to refuel it. Am I saying rob can't produce another hit for himself? Nope

What am I saying? He can always use a helping hand....."echo" being a prime example.....song was a BEAST

I voted for "Kellz producing on his own", but only judging by the previous works. If he gets to collaborate with producers of his caliber or higher, I have no problem with it. Let's say, he gets Stevie Wonder for a song or two. If something like that happens, I say "Keep 'em coming!" as long as it's several songs per 1 album max.

Kells is able to produce all kinda records. He proved it, he's a great producer. I don't know why he doesn't produce all of his songs alone anymore though.

I wouldn't have a problem with other people producing or even writing for R. Kelly as long as its for his betterment musically.Usually these outside producers dont take R. Kelly's music to another level musically ("Burn it up" is one of the exceptions). "Echo" was good but its not like R. Kelly couldn't make a similar song. If he ever did allow outside production and writing I want it different from what R. Kelly usually does, not some carbon copy.

The best R. Kelly collaborations for me are when he teams up with arrangers like Paul Riser or Donny Lyle - Chocolate Factory and Happy People.

I think it may possibly be time that he injects some new blood into his music. Not an insult to him but just that he may need some inspiration from someone else. Same with Prince.

he is badd on his own, however if he allowed that other ear to bring the sam cooke thing all the way and make him sing and work on full songs than i'd say do it.

he ain't been challenged in a long time imo.

writing some songs with meat matter more. production today is only as good as the writing one will wash the other.

Co-sign. Rob doesn't need any other producer unless he no longer knows how to incorporate the Sam Cooke flavour into his music. There's no doubt in my mind that he needs to go back to his roots and find the Soul in him to make it all happen again. If he needs help with that, I say "OK, get that help".

But I still think he can do it all on his own and be the best.

I just want to let it be known.....i was the one vote who voted he can use a co-producer. Ive seen what it can do to other artists.....don't get me wrong....i love his own work....but sometimes you need outside inspiration .....thats all i'm saying.....i believe untitled was better than DU.....b/c of co-producers

^^itzperch, always appreciate your opinions even though i disagree with some of them (like this one).

i agree that Untitled was better than DU (though they were different you must admit), but i don't think it was due to the co-producers.
