Thread: is Kayne as Popular as R.Kelly in Chicago?

i wason another Music message board and a few folks said don't be mad because Kayne is bigger than your Kellz in Chicago. what have you heard about this just curious and it ain't really a big deal because Kayne is having his moment to shine.

dude is gonna have 3 straight multi Platinum albums, hits,awards and crazy media attention and exposure. i don't see what the fuss is over Kayne Musically,but he is a helluva marketer and that does sell a career as well.

what's your thoughts? Kellz should Rule chicago,but Kayne is happening now and I understand that.

First of all, who is the hell is Kayne? Don't those fools need Kanye? I think that Kellz & Kanye BOTH rule Chicago, in a music point of view. I'm a fan of both of them. Plus, why are they comparing these 2 great men? Kellz rules the R&B while Kanye rules the rap side.

You can't compare somebody that came in the game in the 80s/early 90s to someone from this time. R.Kelly has to change his style of music every time he comes out cause of the time period he came from. Kanye aint even as close as Kells in popularity he just having his shine right now and just like every popular act the people will turn on Kanye very soon.

Nope nope nope. Kayne can't touch Kellz. Kellz has a multi-generational fan base and Kayne has the teens and young adults that are in to hip hop. That's the main difference right there. Kellz has Chicago on his back. It's hard (almost impossible) to mention Chicago musicians without thinking of R.Kelly. Kanye hasn't reached that level yet.

I would say they both have equal popularity because they have a different fan base.

I would say Kellz is more popular in Chicago, than Kanye West. Kellz is a producer, singer, writer and a true artist. Kanye can't even be compared to Kellz. They are in two different aspects in their careers.

This is just Kanye's moment.

Let's get back to this thread in 13 years and see what kind of tune we are singing then.
