Default doing Albums with Jay Z meant?

hearing TP3 hearing double .Up and thinking back to the Album Project with Baby Williams got me thinking back to where it all got rolling. so what did the projects with Jay Z Mean again? they are my coasters in my crib basically because i like some of the tracks, but nobody else is gonna be able to pull this colab off successful on a whole project at what Kellz and Jay Z attempted to do.

i chose the acceptance one...its hould have worked but i think the album was made while R. Kelly was lazy (not sure about Jay-Z because i dont listen to him so i dont no when hes bad or good )

the only song i remember from it was "naked" and "something stereo" everything is just blah blah...if it would have worked "Double Up" would have worked much more than it did now and "Chocalate Factory" would have sold more i think because you would of had the Jay-Z fans having an interest with R's music...

the albums more of a tax write of because it definately wasn't a serious album where both artist were in the studio thinking of GOOD music as opposed to GENERIC and TYPICAL music

Those albums with Jay-z shouldn't never happened! I felt that way when R.Kelly was talking about it in a interview!

i have them in my collection and accept them.

there are some pretty good cuts:

    feelin you in stereo
    dont let me die
    big chips
    naked
    take ya home with me
    honey
    the streets

......the whole situation was just unfortunate and unlucky.

In my collection, but I avoid thinkin about them together. Like some relationships, it's almost like a bad Karma. Even without that mess at the tour, I still wouldn't consider the 2 albums big. Not creative, not passionate. For those who expect a lot from the 2 big names, it could be disappointing. I like some seperate tracks, but can't get into the whole album. Been a good while since I listened to the both albums.

My guess is a couple of factors, Kells seeing that R&B was slowing down, Rap was growing, trying to incorporate both in a unique approach to make money. mostly a marketing gig.

Artists get bored making the same thing all the time. Sometimes I think Kells gets bored making R&B. Its not exciting for him anymore. He could do it in his sleep.

Trying something different is refreshing for him, like a new challenge, the MV project, Trapped, rap collabo's, etc.

That Unfinished Business was way too rushed and crappy. I don't care for Baby so I'm kinda glad it didn't come out commerically. But I'd still like to hear it.

I see what you gettin at. Doing a whole album with a rapper ain't that unique or different, tho. I mean, the form itself ain't mean much. Rather, when it comes to content, it could've meant more. If the two albums were concept albums and had more ideas and chemistry, like what he's talking about here....and what I meant by sayin 'not passionate'

then, maybe the projects would be more or less memorable gigs in both Kellz and Jay-Z's career and many people's minds, if not definite classics or any status close to that.

Honestly, though, the Best of Both World albums didn't really mess with his flow of solo albums at all, so one could realistically have just ignored their existance. Being the fan I am, I bought 'em, though I've never really liked either of the albums.

My best guess? The Fiesta Remix got a lot of club play and R. Kelly and Jay-Z both said "what the hell? We could bang an album out together in a couple of days." From the sounds of it, that's just what they did, too. As for the second time around, who knows what the hell was going through either of their minds.

If they really got into the project they could've did it way better. Both albums seemed like they were rushed. I really think that if they spent more time on the project it would have been way better. And although Baby isn't a good rapper i also think that "Ghetto Thriller" was a better album i was already in love with the intro and if it's possible i'd still love to hear that album
