Thread: 12Play4thQarter or Gospel Album ?

i picked 12 play 4th quarter

I chose 12 Play 4th Quarter just becuz I don't like a gospel album and it's been the album title we got for now. "12 Play" might mean many slow jams comin up, but I hope the album has more and goes deeper and explores wider than that formula. I mean, what can be easily predicted by the title ain't attractive to me. At the same time, I still believe he's ain't the one to make it a strictly concept-oriented album where the title hints a lot about the actual tracks.

So, it's like, what I really chose is a brand new album with various types of tracks with or without that title. In fact, I don't like the title and hope it changes since the release date seems to be far away. It's the content that matters and people will pay attention to at the end of the day, tho.

I agree with the earlier post, get rid of the TP series altogether. It seems tired at this point. Let's move on. That's the reason I chose the gospel album.

I went for the gospel album because I think the timing is so right. It's the moment for Rob to give thanks from the bottom of his heart and a gospel album is the perfect vehicle to do that. Besides, anything that comes with the 12 Play reference in the title doesn't seem a good idea to me at this moment. Maybe in the future, but not now. It's true that a title is just a title, but people are likely to relate the title with the kind of music they expect if they know the album is the next instalment of the TP series, and I think Rob should put out a few different quality albums before doing another 12 Play.

Needless to say, if I had my way I would say bring the MV in its original form and make history. After that, any other releases would have a different dimension.

I think Rob can thank supporters without doing a gospel album. Lots of church folks have shit on him.

I just don't see a gospel album right now. No way that's gonna happen. I could be wrong.

Lots of music critics would say that Kells wants to sing more about Christ and redemption after a Not guilty verdict? That's not true, but that's how they would slam him.

The thing I worry about most is that Jive will remove creative control away from him, tell him what They want, make him work with folks he might not want to, and tell him what to do that would sell best. I fear that Rob might give in to that desire to give us a PRODUCT that he didn't really design in order to maximize sales.

Who know's???.....Sex Sells, and since he has been found not guilty, now might be the time to be more lyrically sexual than ever, just as he has been in the past. He could blur the lines between love/lust/sex in ways that haven't been done before, like he did with the hit Ignition. I'd bet it will have many metaphors. Maybe it should be a Double CD too.

^^ Sure lots of "church folks" have been less than kind to Robert but the great thing about God is that He is not like man and if Rob does the gospel album, he knows that he would be singing praises unto God and not man.

With TP.3 and Double Up being released before the verdict, I don't see any possible way he could get more sexually explicit than he already is. There are no more lines to be blurred. He has done it all. Car sex, drug sex, animal sex, candy sex, alien sex ... how on earth (or Uranus, for that matter) can he be more sexual? Release a graphic live commentary on a porn movie? Please keep that from happening!

Earlier this day, I put in my TITC dvd and just watched the church scence. I LOVE it. Could listen to it all day long. That made me wish to get a gospel album. if not now, at least someday. PLEASE.

12-Play 4th Quarter first, and then a gospel album. I want Kells to keep stomping on the haters because they are still riding on his dick after his you-know-what. After they put their foot up in their snd shut the hell up (which I STRONGLY doubt it), Kells can say thanks to everyone who continue to love him NO MATTER WHAT and stuck by him through thick and thin.

There's no need for him to change into a monk. One thing that I hope is he can bring back soul and poetry into sexual songs. You can write raw lyrics yet still can sound lovely. He could blur the lines between love/sex/soul/spirituality.
