12 Play 4th Quarter...... if he does a gospel album make the album a 2-Disc like Happy People/ U Saved Me. But with it What he would normally do/Gospel cause if he started something already with 12 Play 4 Quarter and he needs to finish it. Then do what ever he pleases.

I'm serious. I'd like a gospel album sometime in the future, most definitely. But, for now, I'd like quality 12-Play 4th Quarter album. You know what I'm sayin

Judging from his catalogue, an album title ain't have tight control over its content, except for HP/U Saved Me. So, under the title 12-Play 4th~, we can still expect a wide range of songs, which means the tracklist might include gospel-inspired or straight gospel songs. You know, so many R&B/Soul musicians often have that type of songs even when their album's mostly about sex and romance. Gosepl seems like a musical hometown to go back to at all times and it's always there esp. when you're an African-American, Christian R&B/Soul artist. So, I believe the sequence ain't purely about sex and maybe club. Now that the trial is over, many of us wanna hear some introspective songs and the album still has a room for them.

So now Robert needs to give thanks. For all of his blessing and all the love his fans give him. It doesn't have to be a gospel album but it should be inspiring with it's message.
You made a good point here.

It's just that I'd prefer 12-Play 4th Quarter to a gospel album as the first project since the acquittal. I just think I'd like to hear a lot more different stories through the music, now that he's free and can get down to making music with fresh approach and mindset. The range of possible topics can be limited in a strictly gospel album. I can't speak for many others, but I think the general public outside this hardcore fan base also would welcome diversity and depth that can be kinda "covered" by the typical album title for R.Kelly. They'll know the real deal once they open up the package and listen to the tracks. At least, there would be no one saying things like, "He's trying to come off as a changed man with this gospel album after the trial".

From the first time TP 4th Quarter was mentioned I refused to accept that project. There is absolutely no need for a fourth part of a "series" that was standing for quality with its first two installments, but then dropped into meaninglessness. Besides, we already had the fourth part, because Double Up was nothing but TP.3 Part 2.

From another point of view though, a new part of his life has just begun. Stop clinging to your past and start creating something new, Robert! Doing a 4th part of the so-called TP "series" would be admitting that he's run out of new concepts and can't come up with anything fresh. I am over TP. It's in his past. Don't make it present and future again, please.

The R.: aight, I feel you. but DU being TP3pt.2? I dunno bout that. dont get me wrong--I understand the complaints about TP3. But there's no way no body ANYWHERE who could deny that that album had some good amount of quality slow jams on it: slow Wind, , Remote Control, (sex) love is What we Makin, Sex Weed, and the absolute Kells duet w/ Nivea (off-topic: is there anybody else here on 12-play.net jealous of whoever the man is who gets to hit her hard from the back every night?) classic TOUCHIN'.

the DU album was a dissapointment only in the sense that it was a big fuckin departure from Kells' classic musical style of R&B music. And dont get me wrong!--I WAS kinda let down by DU. but lets examine what Kells was tryina do here: he was attempting a more rap-type album. Kells isn't as good at hipHop as, for example, Mos, or Talib, or Hova or Tribe/Quest but I think that anybody (not just us fans) have to admit that Rob did have some pretty dope lyrics on most of the songs he spit on. just off the top of my head:

"and as for the haters they as funny/ My money like a road block so watch how you roll out, ya crash dummy!"

"Well you taste so good to me girl, and I can't get enough/ see, Doc says stay away from sweets, fuck it-I wanna get my sugar up."

"make me wanna take a trip witchu/ Sun shinin and the sky's blue, so/ girl come on lemme take you to my private spot/ baby I just wanna getchu to my private spot/ girl once I get your body to my private spot/ Flex-ah, time to have sex-ah."

To sum-up my very long explanation, I mean is that the DU album is NOT JUST a quality album for Kells, but it is also a very high above the so-called "standards" of the vast majority of current hip-hop artists. Yeah sure, Kells may be singin about being in the club 95% of the album, but remember, he did record this shit before the trial even STARTED. so Kells may have just wanted to sing about things that made him feel chilled-the-fuck-out, ya dig?

So there's my long (and probably boring as fuckin hell) defense of the DU album. Peeeeaaacccccccccccccce.

i voted on 12-play fourth quarter, while i would love a gospel album, i think he could touch on a lot more different topics with 12 play 4th quarter. He can touch on relationships, sex, breaks ups inspirationsal tracks, and some radio friendly hits etc.... a gospel album would be to limited, and the timing is too perfect, now that hes not guilty, to drop an album that everyone can feel and relate too. since he clearly has alot of tracks done, and hes working on new material, i think he should just drop a double album with 25-30 tracks( thats just a huge wish) cuz the album could be a nice mix of 12 -play, chocolate factory and R. touching on many different subjects.

i'd take the musical virus uncut and I don't care what has been released thus far. the gospel project would seem forced and a way to smooth things out only to go back.

12 play 4th quarter thus far seems forced and predictable and he ain't even producing the majority of this. feels like I gotta stay hip and happening and not alot of energy there IMO thus far from what I've heard.
