Who Wants to be R.O.B?
This is a thread for the members of the forum to have a little fun when your bored.
...Rob as we know is a musical genius, especially when it comes to Songwriting...and even though we mite not quite have his ability, there is nothing wrong with trying to come up with something!
So here is the chance for any and everybody to have a little go at songwriting in the style of Rob!
...The subject matter is of your choice, the only criteria is that u try to write in a similar format to Rob...something that vaguely follows the below pattern:
- Intro
- Chorus/Hook
- 2/3 Verses
- Bridge
- Outro
If u cud set the scene or tell us what R. Kelly song influenced u, or what your song mite sound similar too that wud be very helpful as we cant actually hear the song!
I personally have never done this before, but having analysed Rob's writing style over the years...I thought why not try to emulate him!
Just to repeat, this is all about fun and participation...like with all things here, the more people who get involved the better...and u never know, someone mite have a worldwide hit waiting to jump out!
Happy Songwriting Y'all!
Oh, as Ive set up this thread I guess that's its only right for me to start off...My song is called 'Layin In The Cut' and its got a similar vibe to 'Playas Get Lonely' but kinda with a steppers edge/flow...Very groovy, with similar instrumentation as 'Loveland' and 'Love Angel'...
Writing process/influence: I started off thinking of writing a straight club joint similar to '#1 Fan' but I found myself being drawn into writing about something a bit more positive...especially as its a Sunday, I went to Church this morning and Im generally in a positive frame of mind...also I never use profanity on a Sunday, and if I was to write a club joint I think I wud have to go all out on that!
Anyways hope u catch my drift!
