I’m not trying to offend or exclude anybody, but…
I miss the old R&B R Kelly. Back in the day he was proud of the hood.

Over the years the mentality of music has changed… Artists have the need to crossover to sell more product. Since Robert is on a quest to stay relevant his lyrics has changed with the times and the need to appeal to other cultures.

But I’d like to flashback and remember when R Kelly was romantic and sincere singing to the ladies. I don’t think Kellz opinion has changed much over the years when it comes to the ladies, I know he still is dedicated… Just his lyrics have changed.

if he stuck to music like "heart of a Woman" he would be a much more credible artist

I think he's always been loyal to his roots...you don't think so?? IMO, among all those artists who crossed over(from the perspective of yours, becuz I'm one of overseas fans), Kellz is one of the most apparently Afrocentric artists. It's a good thing to see for me as well. You gotta love and respect your roots. Without it, you can't love and respect other cultures.

Derogatory is to have a low opinion of or to down credit someones character

When Kells talks about hos and bitches, he's not talkin about all women. He's talking about hos and bitches. They exist, you know.

As for the original poster's comments, I kind of agree. I do sort of miss the old R&B Kells (tho his new stuff is tight, imho), but sayin that he's not keepin it true to the hood? i disagree wit that.

ho's and bitches can be men as well its only you if thats how you think of your self and on one of his recent songz he does say he make music for the hood first cause thats where he's from

I don't think Rob is doing anything wrong with his lyrics. Look at how many songs he sing uplifting women and rooting for women. There's more songs dedicated to the good in women than the bad. I love all of his music and it get better and better for me.
