Q was messing with Naomi at the time(who hasn't?) anyway she got a token background vocal part. in truth Rod Temperton did the actual re-Arrangement of the track. Q overseas things and takes his usual credit for Producing because that is what he does. but Rod Temperton is a team player in the Q camp. if you listen to R's Production for "can we go round again" for Billy Ocean then that trademark Sax run was there as was that Sax used on David Peaston's decond album on a track and also on the first Public announcement Album. the only thing new added besides Naomi's vocals was the Fender Rhodes sound added to the track. everything else sounded like a standard R.kelly Production.Quincy has it written that id he has to share credit then he is gonna always get that Production credit. take my word on this one,I know from having followed Michael Jackson how Q's thing works. Q knows how to get the right players for the right sound and vibe for what he wants, but as far as the actual details?? dude doesn't do hald as much as the credit as he gets. that doesn't take away from what he knows, but at the same time he gets way too much credit on things.
yep Tamia and Babyface were singing on the stage in the video and Quincy Jones is hanging at the Bar.Bet still has a Midnight Love type show but it comes on late on friday night.VH1-Soul is on digital cable and they have different formats of videos they show. but yeah I do miss seeing those videos and things far more.
all i can say is that when i follow a Artist I truly listen and know there Sound and the certain riffs, runs and overall Production, arrangements and overall chord Progressions,etc... I've followed R.kelly's and Quincy Jones amongest Other Musicians and there are certain details within there Song Structures that you just pick up on. that is the Music Geek in me.
