These lists??? What do they really mean??? Absolutely nothing. These list reflect the opinions of those who created the list in the first place.
It depends on where you are and who you ask the same question. Cause the way things are going now, there is no way Britney Spears should be on top. Her fame is the reason why people don't buy music that much anymore. Because we get sick of reading about the dumb shit she does.

If you spend enough money on publicity your name would come up in websearches, news stories too etc. I mean that Spice Girl and that sococer player was in the new every day.
