LADIES MAKE SOME NOISE TOUR CELEBRATING TWO DECADES OF PUTTING THE R IN R&B
R.Kelly - the multiplatinum selling singer / songwriter and R&B icon - is returning to the UK for his first UK live shows for 8 years for the Ladies Make Some Noise Tour.
Remember the first time you saw R.Kelly at Hammersmith Apollo in 1992? He was then unknown to the masses yet sold out 2 nights to rave reviews. Within 18 months he was back in the UK to do a record breaking 5 sold out nights at the Apollo, plus a show in Wolverhampton, due to the phenomenal demand. Now, nearly two decades later, he comes back to these venues with more smash hits under his belt than days in the month. R. Kelly will take us back to the halcyon days of She's Got That Vibe through to the timeless party anthem of Ignition (Remix) and the feverishly addictive Trapped In the Closet along with all his other top R&B masterpieces and of course material from his new record, "Untitled".
FULL UK TOUR DATES:
5 April Manchester Apollo
9 April London Hammersmith HMV Apollo
11 April Wolverhampton Civic Hall
Tickets go on sale on 22nd January at 9am from Tickets for concerts, theatre, football, family days out. Official Ticketmaster Site / AEG Live - Events / 08444 775 775
In a career spanning 20 years, R. Kelly has possessed a musical Midas touch, selling a staggering 50 million records across the world, with over 30 hit singles in the UK alone (including ‘Bump n’ Grind’, ‘She’s Got That Vibe’, ‘Step In The Name Of Love’, ‘Ignition Remix’) while writing and producing hits for a wide range of superstars including Michael Jackson, Ciara, Britney Spears and The Isley Brothers. R. Kelly also recently wrote the international comeback hit single ‘I Look to You’ for Whitney Houston solidifying her eagerly awaited return to superstar status. His most recent solo album “Untitled” has been hailed by R&B fans as another classic and the album hit the top of the Billboard Top R&B / Hip-Hop Albums chart at the end of 2009.
In 2005 with his natural ability to write hit after hit record internationally recognised, R. Kelly turned his attention to film and created one of the greatest musical soap opera’s ever, ‘Trapped In The Closet’. Initially created as a three part series added to his seventh studio album “TP3.com”, the short films grabbed R.Kellys existing audience and gained him a huge new audience as people became feverishly addicted to the sensational storyline and fantastic characters Kelly had created for Trapped…. Media reaction in the UK likened it to a “ghetto version of The Archers” and influential columnist Charlie Brooker has since come out as a fan. If you include the online parodies and tributes via YouTube (South Park, Mad TV, Weird Al Yankovic, etc), added to the official online viewing figures, Trapped….has been viewed HUNDREDS of MILLIONS of times online ….that’s a phenomenon.
R. Kelly is a genius of our time and the rare chance to see him live is not to be missed. This is an event.

THANK YOU LORD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That means his tour will start in Germany probably.

This is so incredibly awesome. I'm buzzing. Definitely buying my tickets for manchester tomorrow morning! It had better be real and not another rumour/cancellation like the wembley one a few months back. THe fact that he's going to Germany helps me believe it. Although, why on ticketmaster does it have wolverhampton and london but not Manchester? Makes me suspicious. Also, on some sites it is down as 'The 20th Anniversary Tour'....epic.
I'm ringing the "Jahrhunderthalle" in Frankfurt tomorrow, so I'll let y'all know if they can confirm the date.
20th Anniversary Tour??? Oh shit, that sounds awesome!!

Gonna get up early tomorrow, put money in my bank then order my tickets (Ticketmaster lists them between £33-45) so that's cool, I was expecting them to be much more.
Going to go to the London gig instead of Manchester too, stay there for a few days with some friends.
