Thread: R. Kelly Sued -- Another Bogus Suit.

R. Kelly ditched a big gig in Minneapolis because -- miraculously -- he had to show up for a court appearance in Chicago, and now a concert promoter wants his money back, and is trying to haul the elusive R. into an Atlanta court. Good luck with that.

In a suit filed in Atlanta District Court, the Nevada-based promoter Royalty Records (through its associate company Marjani Clothing) alleges Kelly agreed to perform at Target Center on December 6, 2007 with Ne-Yo and Keyshia Cole, among others. Then he moved the show to the 20th ... except on that day, R. got dragged into court in Chicago -- on threat of arrest.

Royalty says in the complaint that Kelly "never intended" to do the show, even though he took a $120,000 fee for it. That's the dollar amount Royalty wants, plus unspecified damages. R. Kelly's lawyer couldn't immediately be reached for comment.

No word on how many decades the case will take to bring to court.

Never heard of Royalty Records and wasn't the promoter Rowe Entertainment or something like that? Anyway, it all comes down to what's in the contract.

They need to take this up with Rowe. Another bullshit case that Kells will not be responsible for.

Damn. It's amazing how much sh*t is thrown at Kells ALL THE F***ING TIME. And still, he holds his head up. My man.

It's going to be hard for them to prove that his intent was to never show up. So they can forget that. But I do think it's only right that Kells pay the money back since he didn't perform unless it was in the contract that he get to keep the money regardless.

Rob never got any of that money. So Rob doesn't have to give anything back. Kells and ticketmaster refunded people who bought tickets. The beef is among promoters.

Looks like Rowe Entertainment might have 'sub-contracted' this show to another promotion company, Royal/Marjani. Now that sub-contractor, Marjani clothing, is sueing Rowe and threw Kells name in for added publicity.

Bottom line is its all bogus, and Rob won't be responsible for anything.

^^ that's cool Mista if that's how it happen. But I doubt the man would make up that he paid a fee to Kells. Yeah ticketmaster refunded people's ticket money--that's seperate, but artist do get portion of their fees upfront. That's not unrealistic. But I guess you are right since you know know everything about Kells.

I think its funny how they throw the "R.Kelly" name in there.

Thats why I said "whatever" because R.Kelly is not responsible for the business dealings of individual promotion companies.
